I would describe myself as honest, loyal, driven, and open-minded. I grew up in the great state of Iowa, lived in Minnesota for 4 years after that, and moved to Manhattan a few months ago.

I am a User Experience Designer (see below) by day, and a freelance web designer by night. Cyclist, photographer, Hawkeyes/Twins fan, rusty musician, and wannabe chef in-between. Optimist always.

I have been passionate about design since my age was in the single digits, and have been designing for print and the web since high school. I have since moved into the field of User Experience Design, which focuses on ensuring that a person's experience with an online product or service helps make their life easier.

Outside of work I love to try new things and spend time getting better at the things I already like to do. I am training for the NYC Century Ride this fall and I spend a few hours a week volunteering for a non-profit organization back in Minnesota.

Making the most out of life without taking it too seriously. I also like to think I am good at making people laugh.

I am told I have a distinctive laugh, and I'm sure it is apparent that I am pretty laid back. Hopefully my sense of humor is somewhere on the list as well.

Shows: The Newsroom, Mad Men, Dexter, and Breaking Bad.

Music: Way too much to list here, but some recent favorites include The Black Keys, Awolnation, Gaslight Anthem, Gramatik, Pretty Lights, Kinetics, Muse, Imagine Dragons, Silversun Pickups, Mutemath, Atmosphere, Foster the People, Of Monsters and Men, Gold Fields, and Metric.

Food: There is a lot of international cuisine I have yet to try but I seem to like just about anything; favorites thus far being Thai, Mexican, and seafood.
