I am persnickety, precocious, and alliteration...ous.
My Self-Summary
Hi there! I'm a
writer and
designer. I love other cultures and
have a degree in
international relations.
I'm passionate about my work and am happiest when solving problems
and making every day life just a little bit easier for others.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently working as a user experience designer, which is just a
pretentious way of saying web designer.
I’m really good at
Design and annoying people with continuous strings of under-thought
jokes. Oh, also pretty great at devouring super hot Indian food.
The chef always tries to take me out, but I always fight through
until the end. It's a matter of pride at that point.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my hair or eyes. My hair tends to change on a routine
basis and friends like to point that out.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Favorite books include anything by Vonnegut, Asimov, and Bradbury.
Also enjoy anything by Bernard Lewis, for the most part, that
remains true to historical record and focuses less on his
worldview. Fareed Zakaria is also a big thinker who I always enjoy
reading.
Movies... Reservoir Dogs, Pi, Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream,
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep, and
anything Miyazaki including Mononoke Hime, Spirited Away, Howl's
Moving Castle, etc.
Food: As previously mentioned Indian is my favorite kind of food.
Also love Thai, Mexican, and Italian in that order.
The six things I could never do without
Family and friends, obviously, but since those are people and not
things, here are some things:
1) A notebook of some sort. Have a ton of ideas and need an easy
way to jot them down for safe keeping.
2) Books. Always hungry to learn more, so always in need of great
reading material.
3) My Blackberry. It's sad, I know, but I'm addicted to being on
the grid at all times. If you find it annoying just punch me in the
face and I'll put it away.
4) Hot sauce. I like spicy stuff if you hadn't already come to that
conclusion.
5) My Macbook Pro. Again, sad, but I am addicted to designing on my
MBP and keeping up with the latest news via my ridiculous number of
RSS feeds.
6) Diet Pepsi, fuel for weight-conscious design junkies.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Every day problems that could be solved with the right amount of
attention.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I secretly have a thing for tupperware.
You should message me if
You haven't been scared away yet.
