My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
IM IN AUSTIN TX UNTIL JULY!! (when i most likely will be moving to mexico, but thats another story)
I just moved to the Bay Area from Olympia, Washington. (well, like a year ago). I love Oakland, but am finding it a bit difficult to find friends and dates right off the bat, so I thought I'd give this a try. I spent the past three years as a breadbaker, and so I'm still somewhat of a nightowl, but getting over it. I wouldn't say I'm political, but I read, learn, and discuss everything I can, which usually brings me into that arena. I love to bike (dont own a car and dont want one, dammit!) and currently work on the berkeley/oakland border a few days a week. Also, I hope you aren't allergic to cats, because I have a 3 year old tabby who I am completely obsessed with, and I'd hate to make you sneeze!
Looking for friends, associates, and hot dates.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Communicating, telling my cat how much I love her, reading, and thinking/talking about any old thing that affects me or anyone else I know.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm tall as hell and my hair is long and luscious.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Outlaw Woman by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz. (I cannot recommend this book enough!), anything by Angela Davis, The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester, The Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson, all Borges, older sci fi short stories (though Im probably most into Phillip K Dick's stories, which are hardly old). I like to read a lot, so you should really just ask me. Also I just finished Margaret Atwood's "Handmaids Tale" and like, holy shit. i love that book.
Movies: not a huge movie nerd, but I really like most 80's movies, lots of old kung fu and horror from 60's-80's, the Warriors (original), Bad News Bears (original ONLY), Back to School. I'll really watch anything.
Music: lately its been a lot of chopped and screwed remixes of Mariah Carey, old Jamaican ska and rocksteady, 70's and 80's afro-pop/afro-jazz and highlife. Anything psychadelic and noisy like Lucky Dragons, Animal Collective, Black Dice, etc. Dan Deacon (im from Baltimore, dont talk shit)
The Kinks are my all time favorite rock group but theres always Velvet Underground, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Can, Japanese noise rock like Acid Mothers Temple and Flower Travellin' Band. Just got a pristine copy of Pharoah Sanders' Black Unity that ive been playing over and over. Honestly music is the one thing on here that we really just need to talk about. too many to think of right now.
Food: Ive been vegetarian for about 8 years, but i dont care if you are. in fact ill buy and cook meat stuff for other people, im just not down to eat it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My Cat
My record player/collection
Beer
My mom!!
thats it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Racial/class/indigenous peoples issues. How my own male bodied white middle class existence can and should coincide with all the fucked up shit goin down around us every day.

::Whoa, can you tell I was reading bell hooks when i wrote this part? i think nowadays im a little more lighthearted!::
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
trying to see some bands play and stop thinking about all the depressing reading I probably did that week.

you want a homie that is always down to find a really cool spot in this city to drink some beer, smoke a spliff, and bike around the neighborhoods.
