My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Jeff and I'm a dumb old nerd. Reading and literature are my most deeply felt passions, and it'd be pretty cool to meet someone to talk about books with. Literature is the way to my heart, I suppose. I'm also into abrasive music, Marvel Comics, history, science-fiction, dead people, current events, celestial objects, or perhaps exchanging romantic notions about the revolution/communism.

I keep a blog about all the books I read. If there's one thing I can do, it's ramble about literature. So if you've ever wanted to meet a real live blogger, now's your fucking chance.

[aspiring, crappy writer. I won't say I'm good, but I will say that I've been rejected from some of the most prestigious literary magazines in the English language.]

Additionally I'm a big fan of aggressively hypermasculine and cartoonishly violent punk shows, though I haven't been to one in forever. I would be highly interested in attending one or more at some point in the future.

I'm working on school and finding some very good results after not really taking it or myself seriously or at all for quite a long time, and my education has become really important to me. I'd be cool learning new shit for the rest of my life, and I consider academic success just one aspect of my larger war on society.

I spend a lot of time on my growth and development as a human being. I work hard at everything, and while my achievements might be rather modest as far as achievements go, I've fought hard for them, and I've done it completely on my own. I don't want to toot my own horn but I like to think I'm a unique and interesting little butterfly. Or a flower maybe.

It'd be a lot cooler if I could say I was some kind of nifty adventurer guy but the plain truth is that I'm pretty boring. I'm just a regular type dude who likes difficult books and jokes/facts about WW2.

(while I try to maintain a positive attitude the real truth is that I hate probably everything)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a returning student so up until a few years ago I wasn't doing a thing worth mentioning. I'm pretty much done with community college and I'll be applying to transfer soon, like within the next month or so. Crossing my fingers that I'll get into a school in a rad place I've never been before. After that, who the fuck knows? I'll try to do something spectacular.

Other than that, I work as a dishwasher in a fancy French restaurant. I was unemployed for a long stretch recently, and I'm very poor. I'm looking for new work, but surviving capitalism is nearly impossible.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
being a sponge for useless, esoteric trivia.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably something related to male pattern baldness. Also I have a nice smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

PKD, Bolano, Marx, Burroughs, Gibson, Mishima, Bataille, Camus, Bukowski, Melville, Hemingway, Steinbeck, Selby Jr., Dos Passos, Borges, Wells, Celine and a trillion other dead white guys notable for their disdain towards society.

I mostly listen to lame screaming punk, lame screaming indie, and lame screaming metal. It's nothing interesting, and I'll admit that I'm fairly set in what I like and I know how to process and articulate my preferences. Personally I don't care what other people listen to, as long as it isn't fucking Sublime.

As far as movies, I like the long, slow, boring European kind and science fiction.

I'll eat anything, and it would probably be easier to list the foods I don't like. White chocolate. I don't like it very much at all, but the honest truth is that if a big fucking plate of white chocolate was in sitting in front of me I'd probably go ahead and eat most of it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee, a book, writing implements, glasses, this shark in a jar of formaldehyde I found in a thrift store when I was in middle school (my most prized possession), pizza.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Stars, galaxies, comic books, regular books, interesting things I'd like to do with my life, the future, and other such silly daydreamy stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I think I've worked every Friday night for the last six years.

You're into books, pizza, avante garde type stuff, strange animals, the revolution, the Silver Surfer, and you aren't a square.

(I've determined that the most important dating criteria is whether or not the other person has a rad tumblr)
