My name is James. I consider San Francisco my home. I have a degree in philosophy, which means I could only find work outside the US, so I'm currently teaching English in Ningbo after spending a year in Korea doing the same. I'm planning trips to explore more of Asia, see Australia, and head to Europe (specifically Germany) next summer.

I have some very specific goals I'm trying to accomplish while I'm here, and while I don't have a set date to return home just yet, I don't expect to keep doing this job indefinitely. Despite all my moving around, stability is very important to me, so that's what I'm working toward.

I didn't really have an emphasis while studying for my degree, but I'm interested in epistemology, philosophy of language and philosophy of mind, and have a soft spot for the German philosophers (even Kant). I have a wide range of interests outside of philosophy including anthropology, archaeology, astronomy, history, politics, literature, evolution, psychology, midgets, monkeys, religion, mythology, and a lot of other things. I'm very interested in learning new things, and I have an insatiable appetite for knowledge.
