I am driven, curious, and funny.
My Self-Summary
My friends describe me as a laid back person, somewhat
unconventional,
music lover,
spiritual, rasta/hippie/bohemian
personality. I'm interested in meeting fascinating people who have
some thoughts of their own... I like to think about a lot of
things, and I really enjoy having a deep conversation with someone
about just about anything. I love meeting new people and finding
common interests.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I'm working hard on not wishing it away by looking
forward to what's next. Even in the most overwhelming
circumstances, I'm trying to realize that every experience with
will only add to the evolution of my soul. I try to live life to
the fullest while balancing work, family and spending time with
friends and having fun whenever possible. I'm finding my path and
enjoying the scenery along the way.
I’m really good at
Speaking my mind, when invited to do so. I'm also really good at
keeping it to myself, when necessary. I'm very truthful and open.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair or my smile, sometimes my height.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: The Four Agreements, The Celestine Prophesy, Way of the
Peaceful warrior, anything that contributes to the evolution of my
soul.
Movies: Across the Universe, A Home at the End of the World, Donnie
Darko, Moulin Rouge
Music: I have a pretty diverse adoration for different genres and
musicians. I love to see live local bands. A lot of what I really
like probably falls in the indie or alternative group. Reggae makes
me happy any day! Some local musicians I really like are
Spoonfed Tribe,
Katsuk (formerly
AAA),
Pablo and the Hemphill
7 and
Villian Vanguard. I don't
listen to the radio much, so what's popular isn't necessarily what
I'm into.
Regina Spektor,
Missy Higgins,
Mike Doughty,
Michael
Franti,
Nick
Drake,
Pete
Yorn,
Paul
Kelly, the list goes on! I truly enjoy music that speaks a
truth that I identify with.
Food: I am
vegetarian, but I don't preach it nor
do I judge others or try to persuade them in any way. Most
restaraunts I've visited are very considerate and I can almost
always find something satisfying anywhere most people go. I do
enjoy sushi on occasion, so that is my one deviation from eating
strictly vegetarian.
The six things I could never do without
My girls.
The ability to ponder the mysteries of the universe.
Friends.
Stimulating conversation.
Music.
The freedom to express myself.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to really live this quote:
"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass... it is about
learning how to dance in the rain." -unknown
Practicing the Four Agreements (Don Miguel Ruiz):
1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
2. Don't Take Anything Personally
3. Don't Make Assumptions
4. Always Do Your Best
On a typical Friday night I am
It depends... sometimes I am at home with my girls watching a
movie, other Fridays I am out and about with friends. I love to
explore new places and enjoy being outside listening to some great
live music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
It's not so much private as it is embarassing... I have a fear of
flying. I do, however, intend to address this issue. There are way
too many places I intend to go to let this stop me!
You should message me if
You are willing to be honest with me about who you are. Don't
assume I'll judge you for anything you're less than proud of. I
just want to meet people who are authentic in every way.
You possess strong communication skills, exhibit
compassion and consideration for
others and are able to enjoy yourself even when outside of your own
comfort zone.
You exhibit a
positive attitude and the
ability to laugh at yourself.
You see the glass as "half full" or are at least open to actively
trying to get there.
You are secure enough with yourself to have no need to play head
games or punish me for what someone else has done to you.
You appreciate the meaning of the following quote:
"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his
skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to
hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love,
for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its
opposite." - Nelson Mandela
