Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I made a big life change recently and decided to leave my job of
over seven years in non-profit. Prior to my departure I was the
Director of Programs and formerly Resident Camp Director for a
small non-profit that serves children, teens and families affected
by type-1 diabetes.
While the work was meaningful and rewarding I was simply ready for
a professional change and a new life adventure. I'm in the process
of studying for the LSAT and hope to start law school in Fall 2016.
I'm not interested in becoming the next Jack McCoy. Instead I'm
hoping to help people in a less dramatic though still important way
-trusts, estate planning, etc.
As that gives me almost a year I'm hoping to do some traveling via
work on a cruise ship in 2016. For now, seasonal retail it
Small aside, I answered these questions nearly seven years ago so
don't put much weight in them. I also operate in gray often (as
opposed to black and white) as each situation brings its own unique
circumstances and such.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
30 Rock Trivia - like scary good!
Organizing & Systematizing (nerdy I know)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My unexpected wit/humor. I'm a surprising package once I warm up.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I'm a big reader and I have a terrible time picking a
favorite. It's usually whatever I've just finished reading.
Currently on the "favorites" list:
Shantaram (I'm not gonna lie, great story but I think I'm more
impressed for having finished this monster)
A Thousand Splendid Suns
Movies I'll Watch Over & Over :
My movies preferences are more far reaching but you have to have
some old stand bys.
The Daily Show
Law & Order: SVU
It's Always Sunny…
Music: Other than screamo (if that's even a thing anymore) and hard
core rock I'll listen to just about anything. I will confess I'm a
pretty loyal Top 40 (in just about any genre) fan but I'll throw
some NPR or Sports Radio on the way home from work fairly
Air/stove/movie theater popped popcorn (if I had to pick one food
for the rest of my life I'm confident I could live on popcorn just
not the bag popped kind - though it will do in a pinch)
Thai (Pad See Ew specfically)
I'm not super adventurous when it comes to food but I'm willing to
try most things at least once minus spicy things - I have learned I
just wasn't built for spice (in food).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Diet Dr. Pepper/Diet Coke (I'm not proud of it but I figure I could
have bigger vices)
A Diverse Music Collection
The Ability to Travel
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Next steps in life.
My contribution to the world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
doing something fun and relaxing. Sometimes that's Redbox and Thai
take-out, other nights its a night out with friends.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- are grounded.
- have a good sense of humor (sarcasm welcome, though let me get to
know you a bit before you lay it on thick).
- are kind and empathetic.
- are ok with my love of the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers (
you can cheer on whoever you want to and I'll support them as long
as they aren't playing the Packers)
- think we might hit it off (even only as friends).
