My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Here are some fun facts about me...

I've been on a game show and lost; I've experienced a volcanic eruption, an earthquake, and a grasshopper swarm; I've had a meeting at 13,000 feet without leaving the office; Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows helped me write a paper in college; I've climbed the Due Torri and to the top of Notre Dame and sailed around Santorini on a catamaran; and I hope this is only the beginning.

Now for more pertinent information...

I've been in NWA for a year after working and living in NYC my whole adult life. I'm a fraternal twin who is very close to my family. I like traveling near and far, trying new restaurants or recipes, exercising (to offset the restaurants and recipes), curling up with a good book (indoors or out), cheering on my sports teams (either live or from a bar stool or my couch) and catching up on my DVR on rainy weekend mornings.

I'm looking for someone who can make me laugh, someone who can challenge me to try new things, someone with whom I can enjoy long conversations as well as long silences, and someone who appreciates me for both my best and worst qualities.

There's a lot more to know about me so feel free to ask.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a creative services account manager at a photo studio/design/digital agency after years in the magazine industry.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Scrabble of any kind. I'm also a fairly decent dancer. I can carry a tune except while doing karaoke (odd, I know). And I make a decent turkey burger and pretty good crab cakes. I'm really good at meeting new people. You never have to be afraid to bring me to a party with a bunch of people I don't know because I promise I can hold my own. And I've been told I'm an excellent friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I would have to say my eyes and/or my smile. But you'll have to tell me over a drink whether or not that's true.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Short version of a long list: The Fountainhead, The Count of Monte Cristo (but only the unabridged version), the Harry Potter series, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, People of the Book (I love books about books), the Art of Racing in the Rain.

I love movies. I love smart humor, epic genre films, and watching stuff blow up. I even enjoy the occasional double-hanky film. Here are a few just to give you an idea:
Classics: It's a Wonderful Life, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Terms of Endearment (while not a classic in the strictest sense of the word, it still gets the most visceral reaction from me every time I watch it)
80's films I know all of the words to: The Goonies, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Footloose, Clue
Movies I will watch every time they're on TV: The American President, Love Actually, The Shawshank Redemption
Recent: Interstellar, Boyhood, A Most Violent Year
And I love a good trilogy or series like Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, Harry Potter, and LOTR; Can't wait for the new Star Wars Trilogy. JJ Abrams can do no wrong.

TV Shows: I get my money's worth for my dvr. But a few of my must-not-miss shows are: Mad Men, The Americans, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Orphan Black, and The Daily Show. I still pine for Breaking Bad, Fringe, The West Wing, LOST, ALIAS and Friday Night Lights.

As far as music goes, if I can put it on my iPod and it will get me through my run or my workout, then I love it. I love 80's cheese and 90's hair bands for karaoke. But I'm always looking for new tunes so I welcome suggestions.

Food: (I'm a huge fan) cheese, guacamole, wine of any color, key lime pie, anything spicy, anything chocolate & peanut butter, brunch on Sundays, burgers & beers while watching sports. I am always on a quest for the perfect plate of nachos. I also like to cook so hopefully you can at least boil water.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The obvious: my family, my friends, my iProducts, a great book, my passport, and a great bottle of wine

The not-so-obvious: key lime pie, jigsaw puzzles, my parents' porch during the summer, a day without an alarm clock, morning movies, and sunscreen (I'm very fair!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The state of the world, my next meal, and why so many men on this site don't smile in their profile photo!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
My Friday night plans usually depend on how my week treated me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was a Hot Box Dancer when I was younger. Bonus points if you know what that means without Googling it.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you can make me laugh. If you know where to find a good plate of nachos. If you have any great (shady) running routes for a newbie runner. If you find anything I've said remotely interesting. If you can make me laugh. Oh, I said that already...but it's important enough to say twice.
