I don't really know how to self-summarize because in a way, I feel like I am always 'becoming'. So what to put here? ( those 3 descriptions might change regularly)

Let's see...I am eclectic and complex for the most part. Playful and spontaneous when happy, intense when going deep, and pissy and and pouty when grumpy. I am perhaps compassionate and helpful to a fault and have to remember to put myself on the list as much as I put others up there.

My main focus seems to be gathering a broad range of human experience through cultural perspectives via work, food, film, discourse and socializing. I wish I could add travel to the list, but not quite yet. I grew up in the bay area and so am fascinated by all types of people and why they choose what they do, so I am always watching and learning.

As for the daily life, I have my own business and strive to maintain it in an alternative, creative, and useful way. It is the stage for my deeper work and helps to pay for my charming house. I am also a part-time parent and spend a lot of time focused on how to do it in an authentic way so I don't fall into a role. I see my son first as a human being and myself as a guide a long his path.

Beyond that, there is the personal realm. Music affects me profoundly and while my relationship to it is dance, the majority of my friends are either singers or musicians (although I am branching out!). It is a certain language I understand. I also look for creativity in the way I express myself and in my other pursuits. In general, I am an artisan, a maker, a creator with my hands. Kinesthetic.

I go deep and very much appreciate those who remind me to smile or laugh. I like to be spontaneous, I like romance, and appreciate playful intellectual repartee. Feeling sexy, valued, and cared for is wonderful.

Raising my child, raising myself, keeping a house, maintaining and evolving a business, being creative, finding life's gifts, trying to stay on in the loop on the world's political events, learning and growing and continuing to develop compassion and appreciation.

Dancing, listening, having an opinion, articulating thought and feeling, being empathetic, being affectionate, working with my hands, seeing truth and helping those to find a piece of their path or peace on their path.

I don't really know. I suppose my physical presentation is creative and attractive to some. Sometimes I get comments about my eyes, but you know what they say, 'windows to the soul' and all that. I also get comments soon after meeting, that I seem a lot younger that the number of my age. I've gotten to where I just don't talk about it much. Why we place so much emphasis on that is an enigma methinks.

of course these can't all be listed but here are a few:
food: Home-cooked, Indian, Thai, Ethiopian, fresh ingredients and interesting textures.

music: eclectic and on the ethnic side. Much of it in minor keys: flamenco, klezmer, french cafe, irish/scottish, classical, live music, experimental, cello, some indie, some undefinable like Rufus wainwright. Mostly drawn to that that speaks to me in an emotional way.

Movies: again, eclectic. I can go from documentaries, to sci-fi, to hollywood, to period peices. I do not like stupid movies however. BBC Films, films from film festivals. I love films that have a strong message, deep/impactful meaning, or are gorgeous in some way.

Books: there are too many to list here but a few authors: Hafiz, Rushdie, Gabaldon, Ondaatje, Divakaruni, jumpha lahiri, and just finished a book called the history of love. "book junkie" but of the emotional variety as opposed to the cerebral type.

the spiritual evolution and well-being of humankind, politics and current civil strife in various countries ( this ebbs and flows depending on how burnt I am), my relationships and those of my friends, parenting, creativity and business, balancing the giving I do with the downtime and rejuvenation I need. Lately, how to integrate my single life with my mom life. Its a little schizo sometime to parent part-time.

On a Friday night I am usually with my son having a wonderful dinner with a friend and her kids. Saturday night you can find me watching films, at a play, out listening to live music, with friends, dancing, eating fabulous ethnic food, finding a strip of beach to sit on, sitting in on a lecture or reading a book at home or in a cafe.

Well I have a few skellies in the closet but I am an open book so its not too hard to find out.
