What I’m doing with my life
Finding balance. I have my own place, great career, lots of friends, loving family, and my own hobbies and interests...But I sure would love to find someone to share my life with. That's not too much to ask, is it?
I’m really good at
Being a good friend. Thinking of others and ways to make them happy. Cleaning. Cooking. Staying up way past my bedtime (self professed night owl). Planning, but also very spontaneous. Being organized. Interjecting movie quotes into everyday's like a second language to me :)
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically: my eyes, eyelashes, and hair. Otherwise, my sense of humor :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Thai, Indian, and Sushi are favorites when I go out (the spicier the better!). For other times, I try not to eat a lot of meat, dairy, or junk...but I have a soft spot for good quality dark chocolate. I don't usually drink soda, but I do love a cold, crisp ginger ale! I do have to eat gluten-free (gluten allergy /intolerance) but can usually find something anywhere I go. I appreciate it when people are flexible when going out to eat if I know in advance that I can't eat somewhere because there are no GF options. I'm a really good cook too!

Anything Adam Sandler, The Breakup, The Notebook, Twilight Saga (yes, all of them, but don't girlfriends and I go together so you won't have to!), The Royal Tenenbaums, Love Actually, Anything Ben Stiller, Forgetting Sarah Marshall (I like Russell Brand and Jason Segel), Annie Hall, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Anything Will Farrell (Anchorman is a fave!), anything Paul Rudd, I Love You Man (puggle!!!), Wedding Crashers, scary movies and ones with zombies, The Godfather, The Town, Goonies (Hey you guys!), Sixteen Candles, Moneyball, Anything Matt Damon, Good Will Hunting, Bridesmaids, A Christmas Story, Blow (Johnny Depp is incredible in that movie!), The Hunger Games (amazing!), etc.

These days I listen to Spotify and Pandora a lot, and came to the realization that I tend to like a lot of bands that start with "the":
-The Ting Tings
-The Joy Formidable
-The Naked and Famous ("Passive Me, Aggressive You" is great)
-The Killers
-The Yeah Yeah Yeahs ("Maps" got me hooked")
-The Temper Trap
-The Cure
-The White Stripes
-Metric (hung out w/ band after a show in Boston in September. They're so cool!)
-Passion Pit (Cool Boston-based band)
-M83 ("Midnight City" often gets stuck in my head)
-Xx (mesmerizing)
-Rage Against the Machine
-Alice in Chains
-Nirvana (I listen to the unplugged sessions a lot)
-Silver Sun Pickups
-Frou Frou and Imogen Heap
-David Guetta
-Modest Mouse
-Franz Ferdinand
-Beastie Boys
-Coldplay (saw them this summer and it was incredible!!!)
-Death Cab for Cutie
-Foster the People
-Peter Bjorn ("Young Folks" is great)
-Blue Foundation
-Tori Amos
-No Doubt
-Various pop and hip hop
-Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
-Florence + the Machine (awesome live!)
-Classic rock like The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty (great live!), Aerosmith, Heart, etc.
-80s and synth/ambient music

Dexter, True Blood, Seinfeld, Sex and the City, anything on Bravo, Big Bang Theory, Law and Order SVU, Don't Trust the B- in Apt. 23, Made in Chelsea, Moonshiners (I get nervous that the Feds are coming when they're waiting for a pickup!), Tosh.O, Family Guy, etc. I've been told that I need to start watching Sons of Anarchy...working on it!
The six things I could never do without
-Fun, love and affection
-Water and good tea (loving Pumpkin Spice Rooibos lately) 4 nieces are wonderful and they are such a joy
-Good food, good music, and good company
-My iPhone, VW, and motorcycle
-My dog Molly. She's awesome!
-Lip gloss in general and and Burt's Bees lip conditioning balm in particular. I always have at least 5 lip products in my bag at any given time. I was a makeup artist in undergrad, so I guess that's one thing I can't ditch :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-How disconnected people have become with's all text message and email and IM. People are losing touch with how to have real conversations in real life, in real time.
-How inconsiderate people can be
-Why people drive slow in the passing lane
-Why the 30 something guys upstairs are "LARPers". It's a little creepy.
-The "new" Harley I just picked out. She's gorgeous.
On a typical Friday night I am
If I am staying local, I'll either hang out with friends or stay in and have a quiet night to myself. Weekdays are so busy with work, my dog, the gym, etc. I will often travel to Maine or NYC to visit family and friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wear an occlusal guard at night because I grind my teeth. It may not be sexy...but neither is the alternative...major dental surgery.
I’m looking for
  • Straight guys only
  • Ages 30–40
  • Near me

You should message me if
You should message me if you are interested in dating a woman who is: smart, funny, adventurous, sweet, loyal, family-oriented, passport ready, and a great cook :)

Please DO NOT message me if:
- You are "self-employed" with no back-up job (really meaning lazy and don't want to work), and live in your parents basement...this is a trend apparently with many late 30-something men, and I'm NOT into it!
- You are not looking for a relationship
- You live in a foreign country (I want to actively date someone, not have a long distance thing going on)
- You are a smoker
- You are an alcoholic or workaholic (not sure really which is worse)
- You don't want to have kids!
