My self-summary Propose an edit
I graduated in reproductive physiology in Animal Science with my
M.S. from the University of Missouri -
Columbia (MU) back in
May, 2007. I earned a certificate in Public Health Informatics in February, 2008.
Now, I'm working as a Manager of Access for a medical company in
Baltimore. I'm
from Clarksville, MD and back here now for a bit. I did my B.S. in
Animal
Science and minored in Psychology at the University of
Maryland - College Park (UMD). Go Terps!!
I like a lot of electronic music especially dnb, trance, ambient, and many other styles such as
acoustic
guitar, and more.
I'm also a mother of two beautiful chinchillas and one Netherland Dwarf rabbit. I had a beautiful
hedgehog but she
recently Crossed the Rainbow Bridge. RIP, Clairece.
I also enjoy live
music, playing piano, trips to museum and art shows on
occasion, travel
(I've been to a lot of places both internationally and
domestically), learning and speaking foreign languages (like
French), and
education. I'll
also do volunteer work once in awhile.
I'm big into sports. I like racquetball, day hikes, skiing, snowboarding, tennis (not good at it), started
getting into rock climbing and bouldering, and I frequent the
gym. I'll play other sports too, but mostly just for fun. I even
will watch football on TV.
Did I mention I like video games (especially Nintendo) and computer games? I do
Wii Fit almost
every day and have a bunch of ther Wii games. Rock Band is an everyone favorite as
well. I also am known to have some knowledge of computers, and a bit less so of
cars, but some. I can
at least pretend enough to fake a conversation.
Personality wise, OkCupid seems to think I'm a real uncaring brat.
But, I'm also ambitious, passionate, funny, intelligent, worldly,
mature and whatever else might make your parent(s)/legal guardian
happy.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Studying for the GRE, exercise, being socially engorged and
working. I'm headed towards public health even though my
degrees (except my PHI Certificate) do not pertain to the subject.
I'm trying to decide my next career goal. I'm definitely leaning
towards a PhD in Public Health. Do you know what YOU want to be
when you grow up?
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Creative thinking, sarcastic wit, being a pain in the ass, abstract
connections, quick comebacks and off-the-wall jokes and comments,
networking, finding information, organization, being spontaneous
and silly, learning quickly, writing creatively and scientifically,
teaching, being friendly and outgoing, being dedicated to things I
find interesting, taking care of my animals, using coupons at the
grocery store, and cooking up random dishes when no food is
left in the house. I'm decent at picking the right words to say in
different situations.
I'm also pretty good with chasing Charlie on my hands and knees
saying "I'm gonna get you!!" while he hops around. It's pure
talent.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
Probably looks. I mean, that's the first thing people notice about
anyone. Also that I'm straight-forward and outgoing, and very
direct. I don't like BS and I don't like mind games. I can be coy
and silly, as well as direct and assertive.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
When I'm not reading journal articles off PubMed... Chuck Palahniuk,
Hemmingway,
TS Elliot,
Poe, John Irving.
As for movies, Fight Club, 300, Chronicles of Narnia,
Pi, Requiem for a Dream,
Big Fish,
Anchorman (so
much to quote), Lord of the Rings, Kill Bill, Batman, Rat Race, and many others. I have
over 200 DVDs now. Also, I really like catching flicks at the
Landmark
Theaters, such as Bethesda Row Cinema, E Street Cinema or the
Charles in Baltimore.
Check here for my music profile: http://www.last.fm/user/jenssey/
Mostly electronic but styles such as DnB, Techno, Experimental, World, Trance, Breaks, Hip Hop (not pop hip hop), and many
others. I'm a HUGE music person. I played piano when I was a little girl (I miss
it). This website last.fm shows what my winamp is
playing. I even run it when I'm not at home... odd, I know. It is a
well-held fact that my music taste is hot fire.
Foods... Italian,
Thai, sushi, Chinese, Mandalay, Indian, Ethiopian, Spanish, Japanese cuisine, Mexican and more. I love many
foods. I am a vegan.
I've been full out since April 30, 2008.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
as of now...
1) Computer with
Internet, 2) Family, 3) Pets (I have two chinchillas and one Netherland Dwarf
Rabbit], 4) Friends, 5) Ambitions, 6) Music (and not all in
that order)
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
I'm thinking about what will happen next in life. Will I be moving?
Should I start another graduate program? Where can I find a better
job? Also, I spend a lot of time thinking about how I hated living
in the Midwest and I don't want to ever live there again (despite
making some great friends) however California may be rather
appealing.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
DJing at my friends,
or relaxing from a long week, feeling exhausted and doing nothing
but messing around online and listening to tunes, taking care of
the animals, watching TV, dancing it up, chilling at the bar scene,
checking out a music show, spending time with my friends, watching
a movie, playing video games, at the gym or some combination.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
Ha... no. I'm a bit of a private person about myself so I have to
know you before I open up to you.
Well okay... sometimes I sing out-of-tune and dance or attempt
breaking to songs in my bedroom. Hey, if it's a really good tune,
why not?
You should message me if Propose an edit
You can message me if you're intelligent and you're not wanting to
just "hit it." Also if you share some interests with me, like music
and if you're a grad student (or med/vet/business/whatever)
or a young professional. That's a plus.
The following is not a list of requirements. In fact, it is
quite the opposite. Sadly, this is a list of characteristics of
individuals on OkCupid who have contacted me within the past
year.
For your viewing pleasure, I have started a blog of the stories behind the list.
Check my Journal out for the stories. I've had some really nice
dates too, but the blog is for the bad ones
(http://dontcontactmelist.blogspot.com/).
Please DON'T contact me (for romantic intentions) if:
- You're a male who enjoys being sexual with other men in any form
- You like to smear food products on your feet and take pictures
- You make frequent jokes about being a pedophile
- You invite me to hangout and end up being with another girl all night
- You accuse me of being abnormally paranoid for not wanting to meet you after only chatting with you once online
- You don't want to meet up until after some extended period of time chatting online
- You call me or compare me to a Nazi and/or German dictators, kidding or not
- You want me to drive you around to random stores on our first date and don't offer me anything
- You start off your introduction with a picture or webcam of your penis and/or any penis-associated activity
- You immediately tell me that you want to convert for me
- You start off introductions with "You're a hottie," "XOXOXOX," "Your pictures are sexy," or some other variation
- You're an extreme animal activist
- You text or talk to people on the phone at least half the time we're out
- You don't participate in daily hygiene rituals (i.e. shower)
- You're high maintenance, over-sensitive, passive-aggressive, desperate, really needy, and/or you can't take a joke
- You must live with cats (I like them, but I'm allergic)
- You're a smoker
- You can't go a day without an alcoholic beverage
- You have kids (love kids, but want to start my own family)
- You're married or in a relationship
- You want a polyamorous relationship
- You're old enough to be my dad's peer
- You're only looking for something sexual
- You only want to talk about my body
- You disrespect and/or discredit my religion
- You can't accept your future kids being Jewish
- You just broke up with your ex
- You constantly talk about your past relationships and/or frequently hangout with your ex/exes (If they're your friends, why not just refer to them as a friend? If there is no existing romance, then I don't need the past details)
- You fly/drive to your ex-girlfriend to spend the weekend with her, alone
- You get involved in a relationship where you end up frequently telling your girlfriend (or frequently feeling that) you don't know if you want her
- You live farther than an hour's drive of me (I'm not into LDR)
- You're younger than 25 or older than 33
FYI: I typically just handout my contact information so please don't ask for it unless you're planning on sending some sick tunes, but if you seem like someone I'd like to get to know, I'll probably give you my messenger.
I'm pretty easy going, and love to talk to people, but if you are going to be rude and/or disrespectful in any way please don't waste our time.
Also, message me if you want me to message you. I typically respond to most private messages. I receive a bunch of viewers per week, so I might miss your thumbnail in my "stalker" list. Feel free to say hello and please don't be offended if I missed your stalk. :)
