I'm uncomfortable that your opinion of me is at first going to be formed by my own.

Geek by aspiration, polite, and as sane as anyone can hope to be in the modern world. I like mucking around with tech, always have 20 unfinished projects to every finished one.

I'm very much a homebody, I used to love pubs and clubs but I've gone off it, I'm no longer a fan of noisy crowded indoors environments; I can however easily spend an afternoon sat outside of a coffee shop on a busy street people watching.

I'll happily be my own best friend for days on end. I'm almost never bored, there's always something to do/build/read/plot/dismantle/play with

Alcohol stopped agreeing with me a few years back, I get the hangover before I leave the bar so I almost never drink anymore and I don't get past a little tipsy when I do. If getting drunk has to be part of your plans that's fine, but I wont be joining in or tagging along.

REAL WORK: I'm a web-developer working with PHP and MySql, HTML, CSS and all the wonderful interweb gear, the next step is to branch over into a full javascript stack like Meteor.
My job isn't my whole life, but for the next couple of years at least it's pretty important, I'm trying to get enough together to build my own house.

FUN WORK: I co-host an almost fortnightly electronic music and talk podcast called The Comfort Conspiracy. It has nothing to do with conspiracies or comfort, is often NSFW, and may contain 'your mum' jokes.

Listening, honest guv, I'm the quiet one who spends most of the time sat letting everyone else get on with the conversation. Not that I haven't got anything to say mind you. I'm bloody hilarious me.

I'm great with technology, I just have a natural affinity for geeky technical stuff and remembering esoteric crap.

If the temperature's low enough to let me wear one I'll have some sort of hat on too.

I had a huge list here; It doesn't matter. I like a bunch of cool stuff, as long as you have a reason why you like what you like then you'll probably like some wicked stuff of your own.

I tend to read and watch sci-fi. Recent highlights have been The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi, How to live safely in a science fictional universe by Chalres Yu and Accelerando by Charlie Stross.

My taste in film is inexplicable. I won't watch anything with gore. I love Edgar Wright's directing (Scott Pilgrim was the first movie in ages I've watched over and over). I HATED Transformers, and The Hangover. The Hangover is one of the most despicable things I've seen in a long time.

My goto music most of the time is electronica, DnB is a personal favourite especially the sort of liquid and minimal stuff Hospital records puts out . Happily I'm blessed with knowing people with great diverse taste so I get a decent dose of most of the musical spectrum.

I don't have a television or radio connected to an aerial or dish, everything comes in over the net. I haven't known what's in the charts for several years and I refuse to watch TV that requires watching adverts where at all possible.

Bananas and pineapple give me the creeps, except on the blue moon where I suddenly get a craving for them. I don't see why everybody thinks strawberries are so wonderful. I like my steak to go moo when I stick the fork in.
I can cook fairly well but food is a chore, especially if it takes longer to prepare than eat, it takes a special occasion to get me to spend more than 20 mins on a meal.
