I am a big supporter of all things music related. If there was a
contest to see all the bands, I would enter it. At home, I
frequently stop what I am doing and play one of the guitars laying
around my house (sometimes it's a ukulele). And while I have played
in bands in the past, right now I am only getting out to play an
occasional open mic night or campfire. I re-located to the QC
almost a two years and have found living alone to be rather
enjoyable. I like to go out and have a good time, but staying home
is also perfectly alright by me. I consider myself to be a bit of a
geek (I'm a reformed nerd, maybe?). Now that the weather has
finally warmed up, I've started training for RAGBRAI and golfing a
little bit. I would love to travel to Chicago to go to comedy shows
and concerts more often. I enjoy the challenge of cooking and the
victory that is eating. I feel more engaged when I am attempting to
learn things, so I try as often as I can. I will probably always
consider myself a student (in some capacity). I am looking for my
partner in crime. A girl that would like to go out to the random
little shows that are here in the QC or decide to run to Chicago on
a weeknight even though we both have to work in the morning. I have
a sarcastic, dry sense of humor (seems silly typing that...). I
enjoy my job, but I don't make it my life. I look forward to
hearing from you!
What I’m doing with my life
I don't like to let my career define who I am, but I moved down to
the Quad Cities for my job. I work with forecasting data at a local
manufacturing company (any guesses?). I think of it as a
(semi-boring) video game that results in large green machines being
built. In my free time I am always learning or relearning songs.
I’m really good at
Guitar, sarcasm, random quotes, comparing situations to tv shows
and movies most people haven't seen.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, my bad jokes... i honestly have no idea.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Chuck Klosterman, Hunter S. Thompson, Neil DeGrasse Tyson are some
of my favorite authors. I probably don't read as much as I should,
but I actually really like audio books and podcasts - great for
road trips. Marc Maron (WTFpod) and the Nerdist are two podcasts
that I frequently download.
Arrested Development, Mad Men, The Americans, Dexter, Archer,
Doctor Who, 30 rock, lots of other TV shows.
My music tastes are always changing, but Say Anything, Death Cab
for Cutie, Coheed & Cambria, Jimmy Eat World, RATM, Green Day,
Blink 182, Muse, Rush, Primus, Queen, Weezer, David Bowie, Queens
of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend, are some of my favorites. I love
the new Daft Punk album, but 10 years ago I probably wouldn't be
caught listening to it. I have 85 GBs of music on my Ipod and
always feel like I need more!
Food: Pizza, Sushi, anything really...
I watched the original Star Wars trilogy and the Back to the Future
trilogy about a million times each growing up. Mallrats, Star Trek
(old+new), I Heart Huckabees, Wes Anderson movies, American Beauty,

I'm a little cranky about my receding/thinning hair. But on the
upside, it provides me one more way to make fun of myself.
