Shut up, listen to the music, and D-A-N-C-E!
“Without music, life would be a mistake.... I would only believe in a God who knew how to dance.” ~
My favorite band, oZomatli is named after the Aztec astrological symbol of the monkey, which is also the god of dance, fire, the new harvest, and music... these days I've immersed myself in music and dance more than ever... I can't seem to get enough!!!
Whether I'm blasting "Red, Red, Wine," "Can't Stop this Love," "Love Knocks You Down," "Islands in the Stream," "Bonafide Lovin," "Smooth Criminal," or "G Thang," I'll figure out how to dance to the beat and sing along! And can I just say how much I love, love, LOVE the Genius feature on iTunes--brilliant! =)
"Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth." ~

it's the little things...
they say life is about the little things. well, here are little lists about some of the little things i love and the little things that drive me crazy...
little things that drive me crazy:
- crocs on adults (only kiddies can pull these off!)
- that you have to sneak treats into a movie--the "no outside food or drink" rule is LAME!
- a driver who forgets and leaves his/her blinker on while on the highway
- wanting to sleep when you're exhausted, but you can't fall sleep (aargh!)
little loves:
- a gulp of cold water mid workout
- getting to eat/drink whatever you've been craving
- human-like expressions from dogs (e.g. the confused head tilt...so freakin' cute!)
- the cool side of the pillow
- being on time when you were running late 'cause everyone else was running a hair later than you ;)
- being let into a lane by a kind driver
...there are way more, but then it would be a little list!

All I ever need to know I learned from the movies:
talking with my friends at the bar tonight, i reflected back on what motion pictures have taught me... many of life's most important lessons have presented themselves to me via film. the following is a list of a few movies that have taught me a lesson, value, or skill:
- The Godfather: loyalty; never mess with the family
- The Godfather II: beware of karma; and never go fishing alone with a wiseguy, especially if you've messed with the family
- Babe: follow your dream whatever it may be; no one can tell you what you can or cannot do, be, or become
- Silence of the Lambs: don't judge others; even creepy cannibal psychiatrists can be sweet and helpful
- Amelie: perseverance; stalk the one you love until they stalk and love you back
- Office Space: practice self-care; taking a break from your everyday work worries can replenish your spirit... Hypnotism works too!
- Brokeback Mountain: self-acceptance; don't deny who you are or what you want & need
- Halloween: self-preservation; protect yourself, even if that means stabbing your would-be killer several times just to make sure he's good & dead!
Got any of your own? Share 'em =)
