- I'm shy at first. My co-workers think I'm lying when I tell them I'm shy. I act the complete opposite when I'm comfortable.

My first 8 years of teaching, I've taught mainly 5th grade math and social studies. I've also taught a couple of years of 2nd grade (not for me). Two years ago I made the jump to middle school to teach 6th grade math. I'm hoping to one day teach 8th grade American history. I can be a bit of a history nerd.

Books: I'm not a big reader, but I prefer non-fiction.

Movies: Transformers, Lincoln, Spaceballs, Valkyrie, Ace Ventura, A Time to Kill, A Few Good Men, Gran Torino, The Conspirator, J. Edgar, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Defiance, The Hangover, Bridesmaids....just to name a few.

TV Shows: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Shark Tank, Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, The Office, Parks and Recreation.

Music: I'll listen to pretty much anything except rap.

Food: Italian and seafood are my favorites, but I can always find something that I like anywhere I go. Oh, I can't forget Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.

- I secretly like The Golden Girls. That show is pretty funny.
- I've also seen a few Broadway shows: Les Miserables (twice), The Phantom of the Opera, and Cats.
- I practice speaking with an accent when I'm alone. I've even done an 'accent day' in my classroom. Everyone had to speak with some form of an accent. I once taught a math lesson in a British accent many years ago.
