My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a simple country boy...some might say a cock-eyed optimist. And I'm brimming with unbridled enthusiasm.

I like driving my car, not being very serious, and baseball.

And watching Food Network, but really only when I'm eating.

And karaoke...a lot. Ask me about my go-to songs!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working often. Writing. Procrastinating on writing. Having a blast teaching high school kids!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Useless trivia or, as it used to be called, General Knowledge. Finding free parking (and of course paralleling my vehicle into said space). Nailing it at karaoke. Creating a story from a very tortured premise. Describing any late 1980s Topps baseball card. Writing letters of recommendation. Anticipating.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I look 16. Listen, I shouldn't even bring attention to this because probably most women aren't too keen about hanging out with some teenage-looking kid. But, hey, I can't help that I was born with good genes!

tv: Nathan For You, Delocated, Shipping Wars, Perfect Strangers, Freaks and Geeks, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Newsroom, Billy on the Street, Community, Breaking Bad, Comedy Bang Bang, Portlandia, Broad City, more.

music: They Might Be Giants, The Replacements, Ted Leo, The New Pornographers, Pavement, Ween, Sam Cooke, The Kinks, The Grass Roots, The Association, Belly, Juliana Hatfield, more.

food: Turkey Sandwiches, that's it.

books: I'm currently reading and enjoying "A Bad Idea I'm About to Do" by Chris Gethard. I like those first two Dave Eggers books too. "It's Like This, Cat" made me cry in 7th grade because it made me think about my grade school crush, but I'm definitely over that by now... And I finished reading the Mick Foley/Mankind biography in a park on a chilly Fall afternoon and it felt magical.

gonna go ahead and add Podcasts too: Comedy Bang Bang, You Made It Weird, Who Charted?, Call Chelsea Peretti, The Todd Barry Podcast, The Unloading, Doug Loves Movies, Go Bayside, more.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Baseball, my car, friends, turkey sandwiches, the contents of my iPhone (music + podcasts), sense of humor
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How much I'll cry when the Cubs when the World Series.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out there, living it up, and loving every minute of it. Or not doing that. All you need to know is that I usually work on Saturdays but not that early, so, don't worry, it's cool.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I eat most of my meals in my car.

You'd like to play some duets on the guitar and bass (I'll take whichever one you don't want). But I'm gonna really push for "Us" by Stephen Malkmus to be on the set list. And probably all the Grass Roots hits.
