My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Let's see...
* From Toronto and moved out to Seattle about 7 years ago for work and I'm still absolutely in love with the city. Mountains, water, great food, good music, good people, etc. I even like the weather!
* I like liking things, trying things, doing things, and generally being happy
* Love travelling to fun places I never would have thought to go to. The last few places I've been include Spain, Portugal, Peru, SE Asia, Germany, and Israel.
* After years of saying I would, I finally got a dog! A cute little black English Lab puppy named Penny who gets to come to work for me. When she grows up she's going to be active and go on hikes with me!
* I love all good food. Really fancy food, dicks burgers, and everything in-between. There is no style of food I don't like or won't try.
* Love the outside -- hiking, skiing, walking, and all kinds of sports.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently quit Microsoft to work at a startup where I felt like I could learn more and make more of a difference. I develop strategy, design products, work with everyone in the office, and make stuff happen for a living. So far the new job has been exciting and humbling and is turning out better than I could have hoped.

My goal for my career is pretty much to just keep growing; both using life experience to get better at work, and work experience to get better at life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Not really a question I normally answer, but...
* Listening
* Helping people untangle a tricky situation
* Trying my best at anything I do
* Looking at the upside in a situation
* Taking feedback and getting better from it (I also try to be good at giving it, if asked for)

Then there's things I like to do but I'm not (yet) really good at:
* Cooking/Baking
* Playing piano
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my general happiness, enthusiasm and outlook on life. Others might call it optmism, but I'm pretty sure it's realism :).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Alright, so I'm not great at "pick your favourite lists" since I have a hard time narrowing down, so instead I'll just give some "stuff I like" lists.

Food: I like all food. I can't think of any style of food I don't like. If I had to choose one type of food for each meal though, it might be Middle Eastern for breakfast, Japanese for lunch, and Indian for dinner. The things I can't believe I left out are Italian and "New American" (the kind of food they make on Top Chef). What would you choose?

Books: Harry Potter, Catch 22, 3 Musketeers, Devil in the White City, The Kingkiller Chronicles, The Design of Everyday Things, Nudge

Movies: Lord of the Rings, Dumb and Dumber, Newsies, the Disney cartoons from the early 90s, anything written by Aaron Sorkin, anything made by Judd Apatow

TV Shows: Saved by the Bell, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, Sherlock, Suits, and some shows that are off the air (Breaking Bad, Lost, Quantum Leap, Seinfeld, the first few seasons of HIMYM, and again -- anything written by Aaron Sorkin)

Music: This changes pretty often, but in general: Indie Pop/Rock, some hip hop, 90's alternative/rock, 60's pop, classical, opera, and on and on

Plays: The Importance of Being Earnest, A Comedy of Errors, Tartuffe, Galileo

Musicals: Les Miserables, Wicked

Operas: Rigoletto, Barber of Seville, La Boheme

...I told you I was bad at narrowing down...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order...
* Friends and Family
* Vacations to awesome places
* A job I really like
* Fun things to do
* Conversations that make me think
* Laughing
* Mountains
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think about all sorts of stuff. After knowing me for a while people usually comment on the variety of things (either random, useless, or interesting) that pass through my head.

Right now I'm thinking a lot about songwriting. I just started taking an online class about it and am in the process of writing my first song. If you're lucky, maybe one day I'll write you a song :).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either going out for dinner/drinks with some friends, or staying in and decompressing from the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Nothing! Why buy the cow if I'm giving the milk for free!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like nice people. And like fun. And like to think. And you like to laugh (because I *really* do).

Honestly though, I've never been very good at picking a single type of person that I'm looking for since I believe the right person is probably not the type I was expecting at all. I really like opinionated people and I'm always up for trying anything once; activities, food, etc. -- I get along great with people who feel the same way.
