Books: Recently read my first Hurakami novel, "Kafka on the Shore".
It definitely blew my mind. Some favorites: To Kill a Mockingbird,
East of Eden, LOTR, Stephen King's Dark Tower series, Dante's
Divine Comedy, Aeschylus's works, One Hundred Years of Solitude,
John Scalzi novels, and more. I love reading and discussing books
in general. So just ask!
Movies: Tombstone, Star Wars (originals), Up, The Big Lebowski,
Willy Wonka, Insidious, The Exorcist, 28 Days Later, Step Brothers,
Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Life in a Day, Microcosm, Exit Through
the Gift Shop, etc. Zombies are my favorite genre. Documentaries
are pretty sweet, too.
Shows: I haven't had cable in quite some time, so the shows I watch
are on Netflix or downloaded... The Americans, Dual Survival, The
Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Defiance, How
It's Made (prefect for naps).
Music: the big one... Lily and the Tigers(local), Fleet Foxes,
River Whyless(Asheville), Little Tybee(local), Bibio, Cursive, Soul
Coughing, The Shins, Bob Dylan (favorite), Joan Baez, Led Zeppelin,
Aerosmith, The Beatles, The Ditty Bops, The Decemberists, Purity
Ring, Gipsy Kings, James Brown, John Prine, Pantera, M. Ward, The
Mars Volta, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Pink Martini, The Quantic Soul
Orchestra, KT Tunstall, Johnny Cash, Iron & Wine, Incubus,
Guster, Death Cab for Cutie, Cake, Animal Collective, He's My
Brother She's My Sister(Chicago), James Taylor, MGMT, Mumford &
Sons, Youngblood Brass Band. Frankly it just doesn't stop. Street
Violence used to be my favorite local band, until they broke up.
You should look them up. Star Bar performances, in particular.
