My self-summary
Drunken schadenfreude.

Useless trivia.

I am a sarcastic, junkie cosmonaut, and prone to mad science
What I’m doing with my life
Running really fast and not sleeping much.

edit: i bought a house. it needs lots of work, but it has lots of room for love and plants. i'm sticking to the plants. two words: lush garden.

edit: the plants didn't do so well. focus on the love, i suppose.
I’m really good at
Making robots dance. Memorizing the *other* names at the end of the credits, and on the bottom of the record sleeve. Optimizing workflow processes to save a few dollars/time here and there. Lean manufacturing. Making first impressions. Getting older.
The first things people usually notice about me
the unsolicited nude pictures that i send online. 2006 is going to be all about clownpr0n, I'm telling you.

edit: 2006 was not all about clownpr0n. i'm as disappointed as you must be.

i don't know what they actually notice, but sometimes i wish people would look at me and think to themselves, "you know, there's a gent who would really benefit from a handlebar moustache."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books:

My grandfather used to say: 'Life is astoundingly short. To me, looking back over it, life seems so foreshortened that I scarcely understand, for instance, how a young man can decide to ride over to the next village without being afraid that - not to mention accidents - even the span of a normal happy life may fall far short of the time needed for such a journey.'

movies: literally thousands - almost all foreign. i like directors like godard, carax, truffaut, fellini, lukas moodyson, per fly, ingmar bergman, resnais, mike leigh, ken loach, samira makhmalbaf, abbas kiarostami, vincent gallo, bunuel, sang-soo hong, claire denis, passolini, jeunet, almodovar, and WAY too many more to list.

music: like everyone else, tons. right now i'm really into dubstep, halfstep, grime, rocksteady, new-school dub, chansons francaises, and sweedish post-pop. typically, the smiths, the cure and bjork are favorites.

food: i cook a LOT. chicken caesar salads are the best food on earth if there's mustard in the caesar dressing. ghormeh sabzi & aash-e reshteh are the reasons that persian food is the my favorite. i also really like feta cheese & kalamata olives too much. *way* too much.
The six things I could never do without
Money, coffee (cliche but true), a steady influx of new films and old records, my watch!, my car, four walls/ceiling/floor.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
investing wisely. dropping out of the ratrace and disappearing into a cabin up north. growing my business. modular synthesizers. macroeconomics.
On a typical Friday night I am
planning for saturday morning!
