My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have an odd sense of humor and often make inside jokes that nobody else gets or thinks are tryfunny aside from myself.

For those interested in the MBTI thing I usually have tested INTJ. I personally think though, that the test/retest reliability and general vagueness of the descriptions of the types makes then little mite to be taken seriously than a horoscope. But I guess that might be a typical opinion of someone with NTJ tendencies.

I am one of rather few people I know who has no tattoos. But I could probably know myself a lot better than I do, so I don't know if that counts.

A bit more seriously, about myself; I'm very sensitive and compassionate, but I reflexively tryto hide it. This sometimes makes it painfully awkward when people are being kind and gracious to me.

For some reason I don't really like listing specific groups, artists, books, or movies and such that I enjoy. One fault of mine I think is that I'm not very personable, and turning myself into a list of things I like doesn't seem to help. But I enjoy science fiction literature and movies and jazz music. I have a small but growing collection of jazz LPs.

I finally got a netflix account recently and am discovering a number of shows that many people I know often jibber jabber on about. I didn't have it before because I do not run Windows or Mac OS on my computer and netflix is not a friend of open source software.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Crayola crayons
Venturi valves
Silica packets
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What people are doing that they didn't invite me to because I work all the time. I'm sure that's why they didn't invite me.

It might be hard to explain why, but some days at I think about bowling alleys all shift at work.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working. Then eating pop tarts and drinking whisky.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I once became obsessed with radio "DX'ing." That is, trying to tune in and receive stations or signals as distant as possible well enough to "QSL," or report to the station about reception and receive a post card from them. I measured the perimiter of my bedroom and determined the number of times I should wrap a specific gauge of wire around the walls near the ceiling and how far apart I should staple each pass to resonate with the lower end of the AM broadcast band. Built it and pulled some parts from an old tube radio to build a tuner for it and connected it to a receiver. I pulled in stations up to 1800 miles away. I promise I don't do that anymore.
Don't tell me you're a nerd because you watch Big Bang Theory and Dr. Who.
