My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a light hearted but deeply thoughtful guy who enjoys the little things in life. And by that I mostly mean food and drink, but really it's about being happy and present in the moment.

I'm real earnest and wear my emotions on my sleeve. I always believe that if there's game time still left on the clock there's a chance for a comeback. I am a leader by example because I believe that doing the right thing is contagious.

Right is right even if no one is doing it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it. (Augustine of Hippo)

So values are really important to me, but I'm also super silly and a complete goofball. I love to laugh and just kind of enjoy the moment, whichever one it is I find myself in.

In my free time, I'm extremely sporty, which means to me that I spend a lot of time training; mostly running and biking with weight training in between. According to my training log, I'm averaging about 12-15 hours a month of run/bike.

I'm also highly musical. I was classically trained on the piano and several string instruments for a large portion of my life. I then went on to play guitar among other instruments in several bands before kind of freeing up my musical obligations to focus on other areas of my life. For those who are into musical theater, I played the pit for several small time productions which included West Side Story, Footloose, and Pippin.

Most of my musical history happened before I moved here though. I grew up in central Jersey, and near 5 years ago made the big leap to move to Seattle.

I love it here. I've fully embraced everything about Seattle, including the rain, and I feel extremely fortunate and grateful to be able to call the PNW home. I'm looking for the only thing that really feels missing right now - someone to trapeze, explore, and adventure all around this wonderful place we live in. I realize that ultimately I'm looking for that someone to love and dote upon and share in all of life's whimsies, but don't mind meeting interesting company along the way.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a senior engineer for a local retail company and love my job. And no, not Amazon. It's super fast paced and I do go on call regularly, but is completely fulfilling. The work I do directly influences the company's bottom line in very big ways.

Ladies, I assure you, my poops are in a group.

I'm also currently on a big travel kick; mostly domestic but I am making a point to do a lot of weekend trips. It's liberating to just go down to Napa for a weekend or do quick weekend trips to VAN or PDX.

And as per my summary, I'm training a lot. I currently am going to run a half marathon (Avengers themed! In Disney Land!) in November and I'm totally planning on beast moding it. :-)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
.. talking a whole lot of nonsense. I don't take myself too seriously but am able and willing to bunker down and talk about the future, the why's, the how's of life.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my ethnicity and/or height.

Disclaimer, and I make no apologies, I am probably the most white washed asian you will ever meet.

Books - These are on my current list, may be in various states of progress through them, or not have started them at all:

Rye Barcott - It Happened On The Way To War (Met the author at a talk and scored this gem. Super inspirational.)
Randall Munroe - What If? (of xkcd fame, this is a ton of fun)
David Foster Wallace - Consider The Lobster (love DFW)
David Foster Wallace - A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again
The Oatmeal - Why Grizzly Bears Should Wear Underpants
David Rakoff - Half Empty
Gary Shteyngart - Super Sad True Love Story
Davy Rothbart - My Heart Is An Idiot

Movies -
Big Hero 6
Forrest Gump
12 Monkeys
Starship Troopers
Anything Star Wars
New school Star Trek

Shows - Right now, finding time to catch up on Game of Thrones and House of Cards. I love The Big Bang Theory. Probably going to start Silicon Valley soon.

Music - I'm all over the map for music. Classical, country, metal - it's all there. Here's probably the top three artists in my rotation right now:

Darius Rucker
Avenged Sevenfold

Food - I love food of all types but have a really strong gravitation to asian food. It would be really hard for us to get along if you had a strong aversion to sushi or pho.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good food
Good beer, wine, and whiskey
Music whether it is appreciating or creating it
My training buddies: my bikes and running shoes
My cell phone
Having a partner who makes everything hard in life easier because you're pushing forward for her
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
wrestling grizzly bears.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
.. likely out on town. We live in and around such an amazing area that it feels like a shame not exploring it.

More interesting would be Saturday morning, where I'm either biking around some body of water, or running one of our beautiful parks, or venturing out for coffee or brunch. I love the idea of hiking on these mornings but haven't done so as of late. Would love some company to accompany me out to the trails :-)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
In the 3rd grade, I was tied to a tree with jump rope by 3 girls who were fighting over me.

They left me there when recess ended.

I used to be in various bands playing various genres of music. I've played in various pit orchestras back home for small local musical productions.

.. I've made you smile and you're not looking for anything specific but are open minded to feel things out as they go. Goes hand in hand with my outlook on life - It's all about having fun, exploration, and letting yourself be surprised.

I only ask for understanding that I'm that guy who is willing to put myself out there in a vulnerable spot because of my feelings. I'm not in this to play games and I'm not afraid to tell you that I like you and I appreciate you. I firmly believe fluid communication is the pillar of successful dating.
