My Self-Summary
I'm a software engineer by day. It's a pretty good living and I
enjoy solving new puzzles everyday. While I love what I do, I try
to spend most of my free time away from the computer. I play a
number of sports including hockey, ultimate frisbee, and hiking.
Come this winter, I expect to spending alot of weekends on the
slopes for some snowboarding with my new Burton Custom.
I haven't always been confined in a cubicle and computer. Back in
my college days at UCI, I was a writer and editor for the big
newspaper on campus. Back then, I actually thought that writing my
opinion would make a difference. I think my cynicism has grown with
age.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently a software engineer at a small company out in Lake
Forest. In my free time, I engage in one of my numerous hobbies:
ultimate frisbee, hockey, biking, hiking, and just some plain ol'
human interaction.
I’m really good at
I'm good at opening up to people and getting them to open up to me.
I like small get togethers where the setting is more intimate and
you get to know the people you're with better. Large outings/groups
tend to clutter the process of getting to know people on a more
personal level.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm very talkative! I love meeting new people. I'll go on hikes
with the local hiking club and get some face time with each person
on the hike.
I guess I'm also tall for an Asian guy. Being 6' helps in alot of
the sports I play.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movie: The Matrix. You gotta love the philosophical discussion
mixed in with action.
Food: Pizza. It's a programmer's food... and is good hot or cold.
Heck, I'll even pack it on some hikes as power food!
The six things I could never do without
Friends & Family
Computer + Internet
Sports gear
Car (this is Southern California after all - our mass transit
system is a joke)
Pizza
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Really what I'm looking for is a best friend. You don't have to be
into backpacking or hockey - I'm an open minded guy who loves to
try new things. So if yoga or pottery is what you're in to - I
would whole heartedly give it a shot. ...okay, the truth is, I've
already took 2 semesters of yoga in school... and pottery is on the
to do list. If we can build friendship into something more... that
would be an added bonus.
