I am sarcastic, intelligent, and unpredictable.
My Self-Summary
Well, where to begin: I do not suffer fools or soap addicts, only
drink
coffee when
it is hot enough to take the skin off the roof of your mouth. I
like
cats.I have a
mind like a steel trap and unfortunately have a tendancy not to
forget anything, although this is a good thing it can make me
appear distant and distracted, which in themselves aren't bad
things - oh yes I go off on tangents and ramble on.
What I’m doing with my life
Lecturing for money to play with and students to torment. Would
like to escape from Bingley and find some nice organisation that
would maintain me as part of the national heritage and allow me to
spend my days thinking or alternatively organise Chelsea Flower
Show
I’m really good at
most things I put my mind to, apart from what would perhaps be
considered the arts e.g.can't sing, dance, play a musical
instrument...hold on this was supposed to be things I'm good
at!
So, I'm very good at making disparaging remarks about myself,
making a fool of myself if it will cheer a friend up, listening
without judging, oh and putting my foot in it
The first things people usually notice about me
Height - 6ft, very deep voice - mistaken for male on the telephone
more times than i'd care to count, and hair depending on what
colour it is - currently sort of purple.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - the list is almost endless but I do not like chick lit or
anything that could be called romantic fiction unless it was
written more than 100 years ago. Science Fiction is what I return
to when I need to feel safe. Text books - currently reading "A fly
for the prosecution". Movies: Breakfast at Tiffanys, Grosse Point
Blank, Donnie Darko, Serendipity, Harvey, Moonstruck, Blade Runner,
Brazil, Chocolat and and and...
Music: Currently; Zutons, Maximo park, Modest Mouse, Razorlight.
Always; Opera, Tom McRae, Ice House, The Blessing
Food: Does coffee count? Cheese, Curry, Chocolate, Chinese, Marmite
The six things I could never do without
coffee, cats, marmite, cheese, chocolate and more coffee
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My current thoughts are fixated on how to investigate fire without
setting off the smoke alarms, burn Elmo burn, and how to grow
maggots when the technician has fly spray in her pocket? The
thoughts that take up most of my time at present are concerned with
my attempts to portray a human being and to slightly soften the
general opinion of my students that i'm "mad, bad and dangerous to
know". I should add that the reasons for their opinion bear no
resemblance to Lady Caroline Lamb's reasons for describing Byron
with these words.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depending on the week I've had I could be
a) asleep
b) in bed with a good book
c) out with friends
d) whispering sweet nothings to a large steaming mug of coffee
