I am sincere, quirky, and empathetic.
My Self-Summary
I am a 36 y.o female living and working in Northern VA. I am
unabashedly quirky and proud of it! I am a
horror and
sci-fi dork. I have my own place in
chantilly with a
menagerie of
pets.
Current menagerie is 2 dogs, an elderly cat (17!) and a disgruntled
foster cat . I am not shy but still fairly introverted if that
makes any sense. I have no problem making the first move, being the
one to send over a drink to your table, sending the first email,
etc. I figure dating is like the lottery and you have to be in it
to win it so "Nothing ventured, Nothing gained" is my motto.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for the county at a special needs group home. I love my job
but abhor the odd hours .When i am not working i am watching
horror and
sci-fi and
reading. I am trying to meet new friends
and people with dating potential. I am not looking for
Insta-Boyfriend, more like lay-a-way Boyfriend. Pun intended!
I just became an Aunt in August '08 and am loving it. My neice
inspires me to be a better person and shift my priorities to family
and friends.
At 36, Ive got the career, a car i love and I bought my own place
in
Chantilly in
'07. Now I am hoping to get the other pieces of the puzzle we call
life in place..
I’m really good at
Listening
talking,
reading
,
cooking
and lots of other activities. Just ask me.
The first things people usually notice about me
My bright blue eyes, my chest. Both assets are real, i assure you.
If you are familiar with the Myers-Briggs, I am an INFP. I have a
goofy sense of humor.
Also I am short, 5'2 and I prefer the term
Rubenesque to BBW. BBW is a physical
description, when I feel its actually a state of mind. Its the
state of loving where youre at and not being a size apologizer. To
add a silly phrase-
Once you go thick, you wont want a stick...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Non-fiction, horror, sci-fi and drama, all types of music a rather
exhaustive list, all types of food. My fave cuisine is
Indian . I have an 8 gig
ipod thats almost full. Some fave artists are Ben Folds, Kate Nash,
Apocalyptica and Tori Amos. I love non-fiction especially socialogy
and medical history and "cultural history of _____" books. I read a
few magazines regularly too, Newsweek, Radar and Wired. Fiction is
not so much my thing but if I had to pick a fave novel, it would be
the Mosquito Coast by Paul Theroux. It was a great,
underappreciated movie with Harrison Ford and River Phoenix. I like
snarky comedies but am not too thrilled with RomComs and Chick
Flicks. Unless they could weave some zombies into it, A zombie Meg
Ryan would be awesome!
The six things I could never do without
My dogs, my friends and family, my phone, my ipod & lungs. Dark
chocolate.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Hippie stuff,
liberal
stuff, sexual chemistry, books i want to read, movies i want to
see. New cuisines I want to try.
Tattoos I want to get. Filthy dirty
thoughts. Shoes and clothes I cant afford. I think about my neice
and my hopes for her future.
On a typical Friday night I am
Making last minute plans, going to the movies, trying a new
restaurant and occasionally, adding to my collection of adventures
in internet dating stories. Frequently making new friends and
laughing. On Saturdays once or twice a month I go to a local horror
movie gathering thing called B.T.N and also a local MST3K thing and
I look forward to that immensly. I like quiet nights in too, and
buying an Itunes gift card and using the Genius application is a
great way to spend an evening.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am adopted and have never located my biological parents.
Really, im not embarassed to admit anything. I really am an open
book, if you want to know something, just ask me. Ill tell you.
You should message me if
You dont like cookie cutter women, you like feisty redheads, your'e
not an annoying proselytizing religious freak, you like
bbws , youre a
dork, you go to Renn Faires,
you can overlook poor puctuation and typing in an IM. I have a type
but dont stick to it, so if youve got confidence and think we may
have something in common, please contact me. I would prefer to meet
people close to the DC metro area.
p.s- a simple "not interested' email takes 2 seconds, not replying
at all is just plain rude!
