I am prone to hyperbole, sarcasm, and awesomeness.
My Self-Summary
I'm not good at writing about myself. My creative nonfiction
professor told me that.
I have a weird compulsive desire to be like Martha Stewart. I love
to cook and bake and make it look pretty.
I use a lot of foul language.
I tend to make wildly inappropriate remarks at exactly the wrong
moment.
A day where I don't make an ass of myself in public is considered a
win.
I'm pretty shy at first, but open up fairly quickly.
I'm really really politically incorrect.
I love being curvy, but maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I love crossfit.
I'm often compared to Liz Lemon. Not sure if this is meant as a
compliment, but I'm taking it as one.
Sometimes I wear glasses.
Sometimes I straighten my hair.
I'm totally a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.
I love to read, but have been having difficulty sticking with a
book lately.
I like to keep things low key and laid back.
I'm a closet sci fi nerd.
I've won money playing Rock, Paper, Scissors.
I don't take myself too seriously.
I'm awesome at things like quizzo, trivial pursuit, scrabble and
parallel parking.
I'm terrible with computers.
I have a tattoo on my forearm and am planning another one on my
back.
I love beer and have to be very careful when I have it.
I like onomatopoeia.
I don't own a tv, but it's not because I'm pretentious like that, I
can just watch everything I like online.
I'm totally openminded. You can tell me anything and I won't judge
you. I might make fun of you, though. Just a little.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a research analyst for a head hunting firm. It sounds boring,
but I actually like it. In the more general sense, I have myself
together and am figuring out where to go with it from here.
I’m really good at
baking, proofreading, deadlifts, spelling, trivia
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually my hair, glasses, or tattoo.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I'm gonna sound like a snob in this section, but I'm not. I
swear!
Some of my favorite writers include: Milton, Austen, Bronte (all of
them), Sedaris (both of them), Vonnegut, Gaiman, Shakespeare,
Wordsworth, Ellis, Steinbeck, Dostoevsky, Murakami, Flaubert,
Thompson, West, Wilson, Eggers, Lawrence, Elliot,
Ferlinghetti...
Movies: I like a lot of older Steve Martin comedies like The Jerk
and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Judd Apatow is pretty cool,
too. I loved Rushmore. I was raised on Star Wars, Star Trek, and
Dr. Who and can shame a lot of nerds with my knowledge of them. The
bizarre worlds of David Lynch and Federico Fellini. I was surprised
by how much I liked Frost/Nixon- it was pretty awesome, actually. I
like scary movies- but not ones that are just gross and violent. I
can also quote Bio-Dome word for word.
Music: My music tastes vary greatly. I can't even say I like
anything but rap or country because there are some things from both
that I like. Big favorites that will never go away for me are: The
Flaming Lips, Elliott Smith, Bruce Springsteen, Sigur Ros, Beastie
Boys, Public Enemy, The Melvins, Daft Punk, John Prine, The Kinks,
The Go-Betweens, Beck...
Food: I'm pretty adventurous- I've tried both blowfish and prairie
oysters. I'm a total carnivore, so steak is ok with me. My everyday
sort of diet is basically just a lot of meat and veggies. As far as
ethnic food goes, I like Mexican, Indian, Ethiopian, thai,
indonesian, chinese, japanese, italian... anything, pretty much.
Except things with gluten. I can't have it, which is sad because I
love sandwiches and beer.
The six things I could never do without
1. at least 8 hours of sleep
2. good conversation
3. friends
4. coffee- black
5. my car
6. pants
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How the girls in my office would ever get by if it was illegal to
whine. Trying to guess what other people are thinking about. Sex.
Should I go to the art museum or watch episodes of 30 Rock online.
When can I find the time to do laundry. Did I ever get around to
folding the laundry I did last time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either hanging out with my own bad self, or out having a delicious
beer with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have now edited this profile about 11 times because everything I
write sounds mildly retarded at best.
You should message me if
You don't take life too seriously. You don't use the word "nice" as
an insult. You don't mind a girl who knows way too much about Star
Wars and has calluses on her hands from pullups. Or if you just
want to.
