My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
First, and foremost, I am a human being and all that entails. I am capable of pretty grand and amazing things, and I also mess things up on occasion. I have found that others are the same, so the company is good.

I'm a rural NW Pennsylvania Scottish and Irish country boy. I am proud of all aspects of my heritage. The motto of my Scottish clan is Fortis et Fidis which means Strong and Loyal. Unwittingly, I have been modeled and tried to live that out my entire life.

I am kind, generous, thoughtful, and sweet. I bring flowers for no reason, just because I like them. I try to let those I care about now it through words and actions. I appreciate it, when someone notices I'm doing that.

With all that being said, I love to laugh and make others laugh. I was recently told by one of the teenagers I work with, "You make me laugh, even at 4:30am when I want to punch everyone in the face." I took it as a compliment. I am a teaser and a joker and I take it as good as I give it. I have no problem making a fool of myself, once I have gotten to know everyone in a group, and, for some unknown reason, when a woman teases me, my heart melts. I will be loud and have everyone laughing, but afterward I need to time to recharge. I am a social introvert...yet that is a real thing.

I live my life by the principle of loving my neighbor. I believe love means being nonjudgmental, but real love also means, when a relationship is built, telling someone that their actions are creating great harm to them and others if they are really being harmful. I believe in the importance of social justice and we all need to listen to those without a voice, for their whispers when given proper weight can shatter mountains. (I am also a wannabe writer.) To those who are religious, I am often seen as unreligious. To those who are not religious I seem religious. The bottom line is this: I have core values that I try my hardest to live out in all my life and relationships and those values have less to do with following a set of rules than they have to do with how I treat others regardless of who they are.

I love being outside and hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, getting sweaty and working out. I am also a giant nerd. I love to debate philosophy, politics, the topic of the day, and, be prepared, because I will switch sides and play devil's advocate all the time.

I am highly adaptable and highly fluid. I let the world be what it is, and I strive to make it better. I want to see all points of view and hear the stories of others. I thrive on challenge and anything that will make me grow as a person and I most alive and myself when I am helping other people do that.

So here is what I am looking for:

I am looking for a woman of character. Someone who shares my values of making the world a better place and loving their neighbor, who live a life full of grace and compassion to others. I have found for whatever reason, that I click more with people who don't identify as Christian but who live out these virtues.

I am also looking for someone who loves to laugh and joke, who doesn't mind letting their hair down, and isn't offended by a coarse joke or two, and grabbing a beer or scotch, but who is over the need to get pissed (pissed in the sense of being drunk) every time they go out. If you can dish out the jokes and teasing, and love getting it in return even better.

I am most attracted to the hidden brainiac girls, who are crazy smart, a little artsy, with a dash of sweet and hint of some rough edges.

Is this you?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently I work with middle and high school students at a church. I also teach some rock climbing classes on the side. I also do personal training and ADHD coaching. If you haven't guessed I love mentoring people and helping them reach their full potential in every area of their life. I am also a Dad who has his kids 50% of the time. I absolutely love being a Dad. It's great.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Shooting out a really quick joke or on liner, playful teasing, and switching from complete off the wall goofball to deep insightful guy without any signals it is going to happen..being a good listener, and being that friend that you know would stand beside you if you somehow ended up surrounded by a whole crew of baddies circa some 1980's action movie.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I would have to say my voice or sense of humor. I am quick witted and have a deep voice that projects well, aka kinda loud. It's like Vin Diesel's if he only sounded like he chewed gravel 35% of the time instead of all the time. Physically I get a lot of compliments on my arms, which is a weird thing to get a compliment on.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I love stories and I gravitate to books, music, and movies that tell great tales of growth, challenge, and transformation (bonus, if they are hilarious). Here are some examples: Lord of the Rings (I have read the books as well as seen the movie), IT Crowd, Castle, Underworld Trilogy, Serenity, Spaceballs, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, and many others.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I am not sure there is anything besides the essentials (food, shelter, air, and water) I could never do without but I would prefer not to live without:

Sun and Wind on my face
Touch of a loved one
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything... I may sometimes over think things. Also would anyone think it was funny if I took a lot of pictures of myself shirtless in other people's bathrooms? How to solve the world's problems, and how to start my book about my own personal philosophy, and why does ADHD have to distract me so much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I like to spend my Friday nights either relaxing with a cold beer and a good movie at home, or with my kids, or watching some live music with friends at a small venue, or talking it up in a pub. Although, a friday night spent hiking to a campsite in order to spend a weekend hiking and exploring is probably my favorite, but I don't get to do it that often.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
For a very long time, like through the 90's and into the 00's I used to have a dream, at last once a month, that I was a featured player on SNL...oh and I'm not Hugh Jackman's body double for Wolverine. In case anyone was confused.

If you think bald is sexy and you want a man who is kind but strong, emotionally intelligent but hilarious, and handsome but a one woman man. And of course if you fit what I said above, because, while looks are important, they aren't the only thing that's important.
