My self-summary
INTJ... for reals.

I went to my first TAM in vegas last year which was great fun.

When the weather is nice I like riding the motorcycle everywhere I can. There's room on the back if you are feeling adventurous.

I can sew buttons back onto things that have buttons and I'm learning to cook more.. I could use help/motivation here!

I'm more apt to enjoy small social gatherings than large parties.. or crowded bars.. those just don't appeal to me as I rarely have more than a beer or two or glass of wine in an evening. A little grilling out with friends.. some music.. some poker.. a few adult beverages.. that's my idea of a fun friday night. Movie nights in on the couch and take-out are also good.

Weekends are for exploring.. road trips (I've not been to the San Juan islands yet) or sleeping in.. projects around the house.. going to a performance of some sort.
What I’m doing with my life
Lately.. working on some upgrades to #R2Beer2 which I and some guys from work built. Having used it a few times it had become obvious the wheels needed to be mounted better.. it was just too much weight on the aluminum frame. So.. putting some of these new metal working skills into practice.

Learning to do metal working over at AllMetalArts. Done a few mig welding classes and one on plasma cutting.. next maybe tig welding or general fabrication. I'm a computer guy normally but I find this interesting and fun.
I’m really good at
I'm quite good at working with my hands and enjoy making and fixing things. I also enjoy photography and have a nice collection of landscapes from (too few) far flung places. I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, so I'm a handy guy to have around.
The first things people usually notice about me
People notice that I'm calm... and that I listen to what they say. I guess most people don't? When I went skydiving for the first time.. the trainer came out to meet us in the drop zone... and a minute or so later they said I was the calmest person they had ever seen make their first jump. So yea... it takes a lot to get past my inner vulcan ways.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I highly recommend seeing Penn and Teller live if you get the chance.

I like a lot of Carl Sagan: The Demon-Haunted World, Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, The Dragons of Eden

Other favorites are: Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, Thick Face Black Heart, Fate is the Hunter, Stiff, Terra Incognita, The Innovators Dilemma, The God Delusion

For movies.. I have lots of favorites:

Pan's Labyrinth, The Secretary, Dune, The Godfather, Dawn of the Dead, Poltergeist, Aliens (Game over man! Game over!), Leon, The Paper and pretty much anything by Quentin Tarantino

For music.. a pretty wide mix. The Heavy, Black Keys, Gary Clark Jr., The White Stripes, Imagine Dragons, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty, Bowling for Soup, Fall Out Boy, Beatles, Vanessa Daou, Dar Williams, Rebecca Loebe, AKUS, Norah Jones, Mila Drumke, Corinne Bailey Rae, Holly Cole, Jacqui Naylor, Diana Krall
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not granola enough for many women in Seattle I've met. Also.. I'm not one to be out climbing mountains or running marathons on the weekends. I'd be more interested in building stuff.. learning new skills.. Adventuring etc. Photography and urban exploring seems like something good to do here.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 24–44
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
I'm looking for different sorts of people... but ultimately am most interested in someone for a long term relationship. That doesn't have to mean marriage.. and it wouldn't have to mean getting serious right away but it should at least be a possibility. If you are planning to run off and join the circus.. or whatever.. might want to just pass me by.

Based on previous experiences you probably Shouldn't message me if:

You think it's plausible that man and dinosaurs were around at the same time (the Flintstones view of history) as presented at the Creation Museum in Petersburg KY. Or you think the Earth is 4000 years old.

You feel as if you have a personal stake in the life of a reality show contestant.

You could quit (drinking|smoking|drugs) any time you wanted... but you just don't want to.

You are a militant vegetarian or would expect me to become one.
