My self-summary
Down to earth guy with a sense of humor.

Originally from Boston but spent time in Maine and upstate NY.

I love going to museums and flea markets. It must be the hunter gatherer in me.

I am open to just about ANY cultural or social event, though I do prefer low class high brow or hi class low brow. I particularly enjoy vintage or artist related parties, where I enjoy both taking pictures AND participating.
What I’m doing with my life
I am self employed as an editor for film and video and have recently started developing a few projects of my own!

To that end I've taken a serious plunge and purchased a pro camera which I'm currently teaching myself how to use. It's little different from my first film camera so I'm picking it up fairly quickly.

Now dipping my toes into house hunting for the first time. Ug!
I’m really good at
Jeez I don't often toot my own horn but I am an excellent and inventive cook and am an enthusiastic photographer.

I am particularly skilled at inventing new deserts out of jello or inventing flavors of jello that can't be found in the supermarket.

I am a fanatical photo taker and have several cameras (oooh a guy with gagets! Isn't that just so new and sexy!) and have gotten very good at 3d photography.
The first things people usually notice about me
By all the funny looks I'm not sure I wanna to know.

I often have a slight BCBG element to my personal style.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Bukowski, Terry Pratchett, Larry Niven, Alan Furst and Gene Wolfe, Christopher Hitchens (but mainly because he really knew how to mouth off on tv) Don Quixote (yup- I actually read the whole thing), PG Wodehouse, The Extra Man and Get Up Sir by Johnathan Ames.

Movies: Damsels In Distress is the last film I enjoyed. THE ARTIST!!! Henry and June, Bright Young Things. Naked Lunch, Every single film of Guy Madden, The Hunger, Hellraiser (1+2 ONLY), Brick, Any and All Rifftrax (and some Rhasberry Bros - but they only perform live), Princess Mononoke, Labrynth, Akira, The Name of The Rose, Blade Runner, Event Horizon, the Thing. Secretary, Willie Wonka and the ORIGINAL chocolate factory, Metropolitan, Raising Arazona. Swimming to Cambodia, Empire Records.

Photography/Artists: Josef Koudelka, David Lachapele, Cindy Sherman and Nan Golden (tried to be a photographer like her but my friends aren't thieves and drug addicts - life is so unfair). Gustav Klimpt, Vito Acconci, Basil Wolverton, David Grey. To be continued.

TV: Game of Thrones, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Celebrity Juice, QI - (any british show where people use their wits instead of a script), Bored to death, Little Britian, Deadwood and Rome (basically the same show), IT Crowd, Bobs Burgers, Family Guy.

Music: A little bit of everything. Brahms, Old Timey Jazz, Rockabilly, The Cramps, SKA! Brian Eno, John Hassel, Joy Division, the Scofflaws, Dead Kennedies, Django Rheinheart, Joe Walsh, Wolfsheim, to be continued.

Food: Root Beer, Any espresso, Chinese, Steak (but prefer to cook it myself), Sushi, Homade bread, Cheese, Peanut butter soup. Jello, Oh- and Twinkie milk shakes. I also like diddling with recipies from out of historical cookbooks. When it comes to fine dining I prefer to buy a famous resturaunt's cookbook and make the dishes myself.
The six things I could never do without
Computer, Cameras, Cookbooks, Mp3 player, gym membership.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I also spend a lot of time thinking about creative projects ;)
On a typical Friday night I am
Out and about. As a fallback I might go to a goth or similar dance club but greatly prefer doing new things, going to new places and meeting new kinds of people.

Ironically, I also love vintage, retro or arts events. Burner parties, Dances of Vice (no vice involved- just vintage music and vintage dress up), Wits end.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The most private thing I am willing to admit is that like everyone else on earth I post everything there is to know about whatever I am doing and experiencing on Facebook.

Ya, well, not really.

Why would I want to limit my experiences in life because of some arbitrary judgment upon the transitory ever shifting internal life of someone I haven't even met?

So message me for whatever reason you like.

That being said I do get along much better with people who are unique or eccentric in some way. Shy or outgoing is ok. And a sense of humor is a must. I yam very serious about that.
