My self-summary
I'm an easy going, motivated, funny (well I think so) kinda guy. I like to think about the future and think about who I am and where I want to go. Family and friends are very important to me and I would do anything for them. I come from a family of 8 kids and like to think that i'm a very caring, thoughtful person. ...Oh...nearly forgot...my name is James. :P

I received my undergrad degrees in Literature and Chemistry - although I do nothing with them. I performed an internship with a large pharmaceutical company (my first coop at while at drexel) and continued working there, in several different positions for the next 10yrs - crazy, huh? I then left to broaden my horizons and joined a small division at Comcast 2 years ago and basically do alot of different things there - ranging from some scripting to support management to leading new product initiatives. Okay, now that I got the boring stuff out of the way...

a little more about me...

I am a pretty sarcastic and funny guy. I love to people watch - and Philadelphia has LOTS of characters. I like to write poetry in my downtime (something that most of my friends don't even know about me)...had a few of them published in college...but mainly just write for me. I used to play tennis quite a bit..but have found that it's pretty difficult to find a partner lately. I have over 2k dvds (it was a pretty obsessive hobby of mine a few years ago - I was dedicated to the notion of having the largest collection of terrible movies ever!). Horror movies are probably my favorite, however, I love just about every genre.

I have alot of crazy, hilarious stories...some embarrassing, some not so much.

I'm a sucker for a girl with passion, drive, great sense of humour, sarcasm, can take a joke and can dish it out better...oh, and a pretty smile.

I'm also pretty random...not in a crazy way...but more like in a...where did that come from way. :P
What I’m doing with my life
Went to school for chemistry, spent 10yrs in IT (Info Technology) and am now working as a Technical Manager at Comcast. I like to think I'm a jack of all trades. I love learning new things and challenging myself...I hate the mundane and don't understand people that accept mediocrity.
I’m really good at
Reading people - I'm a pretty good judge of character and am really good at 'putting myself in someone else's shoes'. While I may not always agree with people, I think that it's important to at least understand their pov. I'm a really fast learner and I guess i'm really good at finding a needle in a haystack...gimme a lil time, and I'll find an answer.
The first things people usually notice about me
Hrm...my eyes maybe...or my sense of humour (esp when I've had a few drinks in me. hah)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - I love the Illiad, Hamlet, Lord of the Rings series, Green Eggs & Ham (don't judge - I have a soft spot for that book since I stole it from the library when I was like 6).

Movies - i'm a sucker for really bad movies and anything Pixar! There are very few movies that I can't or won't watch. Zombie movies (love em), Resevoir Dogs, Dusk til Dawn, Pulp Fiction, the list goes on and on.

TV - Adult Swim (pretty much anything they play), South Park, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Family Guy, Doctor Who, Adventure Time! - big fan of cartoons - what can I say, im a kid at heart. :)

Music - little bit of this, little bit of that. Kyuss, System of a Down, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Faith No More, Soundgarden, super cheesy 80's music..

Food - italian, mexican, chinese, moroccan, thai, french, cheese, steak, vegetables (except beets - have never liked them)
The six things I could never do without
1 - Family & Friends
2 - Coffee
3 - A pipeline into the internet (phone, laptop)
4 - Coffee
5 - Cartoons (what can I say, sometimes you need to watch Monsters Inc to make you forget about a bad day at work)
6 - Fries :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The reason. The reason for what, you ask? The reason for [fill in the blank]. Everything comes from something and I like trying to find out what that 'something' is.
On a typical Friday night I am
Grabbing a few drinks with some friends or relaxing at home watching a movie (boring, i know..but depending on the week...sometimes you just need some time to veg on a friday).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In first grade, I was a really bad kid! My mom would drag me to school kicking and screaming...and one day, when my principal took away my large pixie stick (my mom used to bribe me with candy to get me to go to school)...I kicked the principal, grabbed my candy and ran out of school. Did i mention the principal was a nun? Anyways, I ran out of school...got like a block away and stopped to sit down (since I had no idea how to even get home - i was 6, remember). After like 20mins or so...a cop drove by and asked me where I was supposed to be...I said 'I dont know' and he took a stab and drove me to the closest school. Needless to say - I was labeled the kid that kicked a nun, which my sister's love to bring up at EVERY holiday.
