My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm originally from Ohio and went to college at Michigan. Go Blue! I moved to Chicago for work right after undergrad, and I've loved every minute of it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a financial consultant, so my hours can be a little challenging for my social life on occasion. Outside of work, I spend my time enjoying the usual things everyone likes: hanging out with friends, music, reading, movies, sports, eating out and cooking. I really like being outdoors though (camping, hiking, etc.), so I'm trying to do more of that in my free time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
...talking about random topics at length, listening and giving advice, trivia, finding awesome obscure movies on Netflix, liking furniture I can't justify buying, movie quote-offs. I'm a jack of all trades.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I am an exceedingly polite gentleman and a very good conversationalist? I haven't a clue honestly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Forever War, The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged, Kitchen Confidential, The Great Gatsby, Brave New World, Apathy and Other Small Victories, the Perks of Being a Wallflower, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Ender's Game, assorted cookbooks and anything written by Max Barry. I've started reading a lot more lately, so this list is sure to grow.

Movies: Patton, The Town, A Good Year, Lord of War, Fight Club, Love Actually, Body of Lies, Michael Clayton, The Count of Monte Cristo... I could go on forever, I love watching movies.

TV: True Detective, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, Vice, Suits and 24.

Music: Just about anything really, but classic rock is probably my favorite. The Rolling Stones, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Zero 7, Al Green. I listen to whatever suits my mood really.

Food: Breakfast food and barbecue are just about my favorite things in the entire world, but I'm the least picky eater on earth.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Music
2) Breakfast food
3) Reading material
4) Coffee/Tea
5) Friends/Family/People in general
6) Fresh air
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...politics, the world economy, what book I'm going to read next, northern Michigan, early retirement, spending more time outdoors, new hobbies.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out on the town or having a quiet Friday at home with a movie/book/TV show on Netflix. Depends on the week I've had.
