My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So yeah, I'm a queer guy who plays (and creates and helps run a scholarship program related to) video games.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I currently work as a software engineer for a financial software company, do some slacktivism on Facebook for the queer community while wishing I had time to be as activisty as I used to be, and in my free time I work on indie games and do volunteer work for the International Game Developers Association's scholarship program.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I have a good amount of raw musical talent. I'm rather good at singing, and I played both guitar and piano for a number of years back. Been meaning to get back into that at some point.

I like to read a *lot* in my spare time. I've cultivated a love for the epic fantasy genre, which is primarily what I read when I'm not studying or playing video games. I also very much enjoy science fiction and the occasional non-fiction book related to my major or science in general. A full list of books I've read and enjoyed would be far too long, but here's a sample...

Anything by Brandon Sanderson or Karen Miller
A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin
The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan
The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling
The Chronicles of the Necromancer series by Gail Z. Martin

A couple of my non-fiction favorites as well:
The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins
The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark by Carl Sagan
The End of Faith by Sam Harris
Anything Goes: The Autobiography by John Barrowman (One of my favorite actors)

Some of my favorite shows include:
Doctor Who (I'm a *huge* Doctor Who fanboy.)
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
I also enjoy sitcoms along the lines of:
Parks & Recreation
How I Met Your Mother
30 Rock

(And if you like Gurren Lagann, we'll definitely get along)

Most of the time, if I'm not watching TV or playing video games, I have music playing in the background. My tastes are pretty eclectic. I can listen to a classical music piece as easily as I can listen to a decent pop song, a hard rock tune, or even death metal. My current favorite genre, however, would have to be power/symphonic metal, especially with female lead vocals. I personally think that female vocals are as important to good metal as gutteral vocals. Anyway, an exhaustive list of bands I enjoy would perhaps even dwarf a full list of the books I enjoy, but my favorite bands include such groups as Kamelot, Epica, Nightwish, Equilibrium, Scar Symmetry, and Blackguard.

I also mentioned that I'm a gamer. I own an Xbox 360, a Playstation 3, and a Wii, as well as a Nintendo 3DS. I'm not a fan of sports or racing games (Mario Kart exempt, of course), but I play most other genres. I enjoy the likes of Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed, as well as traditional Nintendo fan favorites such as Legend of Zelda and Metroid.

As far as I'm concerned though, nothing can beat the RPG genre. From the western style (like Elder Scrolls), to the Japanese style (like Tales, Paper Mario or Final Fantasy), to strategy RPGs (like Fire Emblem or Advance Wars), I'll take a good RPG over a popular FPS any day.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
At any given time, I'm almost certainly pondering something. Usually related to theology (atheology?), science, or programming.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It varies. Sometimes I stay in and watch TV, sometimes I go out and party with friends or coworkers.
