Not satisfied? Okay, here it goes:

I have a lot to say but usually listen. I am quietly ambitious but openly aspiring. I have strong emotions but an excellent poker face (at least until I'm comfortable enough to show my hand). I am passionate but known for my rationality. I am called an "old man" due to my wisdom, weird Midwestern colloquialisms, and occasional grumpiness but people are often surprised by my lingering innocence and idealism.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I went to undergrad at Oberlin College, graduated from BC Law and am now an attorney in Boston (though it doesn't quite feel real yet). I have worked extensively with domestic violence survivors and spent my first post-grad year as a Case Manager for homeless families. I currently represent children and parents in child welfare cases.

I'm still asking myself the deep questions of life: What should I be doing? Where do I belong? With whom do I belong?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Introspection and as a result being easily distracted. I've been dubbed the "absent-minded professor." I often get lost in my thoughts, forget to respond to messages, lock my keys in the car with the engine still running, and occasionally walk into trees or low hanging branches.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Who knows? I would say my shyness but I have learned that I have a fairly good poker face and many people see me as perfectly calm and sociable even when I'm really nervous.

Physically, I receive the most comments on my eyes, lips, hair, and facial expressions.

But lets be frank, the FIRST thing most guys notice is my skin color. Ideally it wouldn't have such an inflated role in someone's decision to communicate with me but for many guys it causes them to either ignore me or start foaming at the mouth. I don't find either extreme very satisfying.

I myself find all races and skintones appealing, including my own. The heart seems to be one of the few places where it is socially acceptable to exclude someone based on race. We all have "preferences" but lets be honest about those that are shaped by our society's often racist conceptions of beauty and masculinity.

So to put it simply, I'd rather not be judged by anything you see on the outside. Get to know my soul instead for it always did speak better for me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
books-Growing up, The Box Car Children, Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew Mysteries. Some of my favorite books of all time are: The Outsiders, A Wrinkle In Time, Lord of the Flies, As I Lay Dying, Romeo & Juliet, World War Z and The 48 Laws of Power.

Movies & TV-Old musicals, 90s era Disney films, movies with big explosions, Marvel. Pretty much any movie that allows me to believe in magic or just something insanely improbable, like a whole crowd bursting out into "Hello Dolly" or a guy in a bat suit saving the world.

I don't watch too much TV. Just started Game of Thrones and love it. I'm obsessed with the murder mysteries on Investigation Discovery and The Golden Girls.

Music- Adele is favorite, second only to the Backstreet Boys. I also enjoy Bruno Mars (lazy pop), Leona Lewis (sad pop), B.O.B (Pop Rap), Sia (Australian Pop), Jason Mraz (folk Pop), Cascada (Dance Pop), Jesse & Joy (Mexican pop), Whitney Houston (Diva Pop), Gloriana (Country Pop), David Archuleta (Bubblegum Pop), James Blunt (Angry British Pop), etc.

Food- I eat everything. I think the French Fry is the greatest invention of all time and McDonalds has perfected it (Saying that leaves a bad taste in my least until I put more fries in it).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Empathy
2) Hope
3) Nature
4) My Man Cave
5) Angela Lansbury
6) The Golden Girls!!!!!!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Men and politics, definitely. My two favorite subjects hands down, though I often find myself angered and frustrated by both. I think incessantly and like a guy who can get me out of my thoughts.

-when did being a nerd/geek become cool?

-What's with all the wacky beards and mustaches?

-How much would could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sipping a Long Island Iced Tea while dancing at the club with friends or watching movies at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If you leave anything edible in front of me long enough, I'll probably eat it.
