My Self-Summary

I just moved to Austin a few months ago to start grad school at UT. I'm lovin' it here so far, but school keeps me pretty busy and I haven't been able to meet new people/explore Austin as much as I would like...so I thought i would give this a try! When I'm not busy being a mad scientist, I love playing/listening to/talking about music (I play drums primarily but a few other instruments as well) and going to see bands downtown, watching movies, being outdoors, reading books, yoga, cooking, beer/wine, bicycling around Austin, etc.....

What I’m doing with my life

Currently workin' on a PhD in Neuroscience, the brain and how it works really fascinates me! I'm also very passionate about music and play as often as I can. Lately, I've been playing once a week with some really awesome musicians, we're working on a some songs and hopefully will have enough material to play shows soon!

Books: Anything by.....TOM ROBBINS, Kurt Vonnegut, Hunter S. Thompson, Vladimir Nabokov, Joseph Heller, Ken Kesey, Tom Wolfe, Milan Kundera, lots more.

Movies: Being John Malkovich (pretty much anything Spike Jonze does), I Heart Huckabee's, The Big Lebowski and all other Coen Brothers stuff, Stanley Kubrick, Fellini, Mel Brooks, Wes Anderson, Michel Gondry, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Richard Linklater, lots more.

Watching an awesome band play somewhere with friends is probably my favorite, but who knows? As long as I'm in good company, I'm happy!
