My self-summary
Careerwise---I'm an event planner and am one of the lucky people who can happily say that I LOVE my career and can't imagine myself doing anything else.

Outside of work---I have a house that I feel like I work on tirelessly (and happily) and try to work on a project or two each year with the help of my family. And, I have a tremendous group of friends that are my family away from family (who all still live in Iowa where I grew up). I spend as much time with them as I can---even though some of them live all over the country.

I have a dog----a Westie---and she makes me smile every single day and I can't wait to get home and see her every day.

I enjoy working out and staying active. I (finally!) signed up for and finished the Twin Cities Marathon last year. And, at the risk of sounding cliche---it was truly one of the coolest and most amazing things that I have ever done. I'll probably never be the person who ends up running 50 marathons---but, I'll definitely run another one.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to experience as much as possible. I am of the belief that you often only have one opportunity to try and do new things---and that you should never pass up the opportunity. I've let opportunities pass me by in the past---and regretted it. I'm trying not do do that anymore!
I’m really good at
Baking: I like to bake a LOT. I find it to be therapeutic. Thankfully, I don't enjoy eating most of it---so, luckily I have lots of people at work that do! I'm a pretty good cook---but, given the choice to cook or bake and I"ll pick baking every time.

Entertaining: Very few things make me happier than entertaining people in my house.

Being a Sports Junkie: Okay, I'm not sure you can technically be good at this. But, I really, really love sports. Used to play basketball and it's still in my blood. Bad knees have relegated me to playing softball and volleyball these days. Football Season is literally my favorite time of the year. And, I've been known to take the first two days of March Madness off from work.
The first things people usually notice about me
?? Guess you'll have to tell me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
I'm an avid reader---will read about anything. One of the best books that I have read is called the Glass Castle. Read it---and then hug your parents and say thank you. Amazing book. For consistently good books---my favorite author is Jodi Picoult.

Movies:
I like movies with feel good endings and good stories. But, I also like a good cop drama or brainless comedy from time to time.

Music:
Going to live music concerts is literally my favorite thing ever. Any type of music, anywhere. I love them. I will admit that my music tastes run fairly mainstream. I can usually find enjoyment in just about anything live---but, my favorites from the last few years: Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw, Pink, Justin Timberlake, Adele, Jason Aldean, Bon Jovi.

Food:
Thai, Mexican---especially pork carnitas, my family's homemade caramel corn, meatloaf, peanut butter, and most any fruit---but, I love grapes like most women love chocolate.
The six things I could never do without
Hm. That is hard:

1. My family. I'm sure 90% of people say that. But, it's true.

2. My dog: She is the best decision I've ever made.

3. My suitcase: My best friends live on the east coast--and I like to visit them as much as I can. And, everyone needs to see the world as much as possible. I take every opportunity I can get.

4. Concerts: I love them. For me, they are one of the coolest opportunities to feel like you're part of *something*. There is just something about the feeling of being transported by music.

5. Great Shoes: I have what some might consider to be a *large* collection.

6. My Vikings Tickets: I LOVE football. And, I never miss a Vikings game if I can help it. Even when they're terrible...we still have a blast every single Sunday.
On a typical Friday night I am
It totally depends. I will admit that I don't love the crazy bar scene. But, dinner at a new place---or an old favorite is always great. Or, making popcorn and watching a movie at home is also great. I guess I'd prefer that there not be a "typical" night. I like variety.
