Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Update (24/05/2015): Please ignore any parts below about being
single and looking for a relationship - I'm currently in a
relationship and as such, am no longer looking. I could update the
whole profile, or delete it, but that would take effort.
Right - I’m officially updating this page (21/03/2015).
I’m a 22 year old language graduate currently working in the
financial sector. The previous writing on this page was rather long
winded – but rather amazing if I do say so myself – however, it was
a tad outdated. As such, I’m rewriting.
Brief but blunt: Ultimately I’m looking for a relationship. I’m not
going to lie and say “I’m just looking for friends”… I’m always
open to new friends, but I’m damn bored of being single. I’ve
remained in the world of singledom for several years – you can
either take that as a result of my being unattractive (you can see
my pictures – beauty is subjective, judge my attractiveness as you
will), or picky. In honesty, it’s a combination of the latter and
the fact that I don’t tend to meet new men very often.
If the above hasn’t driven you from this page – well done, you may
just be looking for the same thing. I’d list the qualities I’d like
in a man, but the main one is the ability to maintain good
conversation. Boring conversation is no fun… e.g. “How’s the
weather?” (only fun if you’re saying it whilst you’re both standing
in a storm – irony :D)…
Damn… this profile is turning out to be just as long as it was
before! Woops. So in terms of personality, I’m quite a chilled
person. I’m a fan of relaxing, reading, movies, and h’amazing tv
shows (see favourites section). I’m also a fan of quiet nights out
at pubs (what can I say? I’m a sloth at heart). I'd pretend I do a
sport, but that would be dishonest... and laughably misleading. If
you don't speak to non-athletic people, then you're welcome to move
on :) I won't deceive you into believing I'm something that I'm
not. However... I did walk a few miles a day... to get to and from
uni... one can argue that is a sport, no? Walking... :D Joking.
Though I do enjoy walking to destinations.
Finally – if you’re located a long way away and I’ve viewed your
profile/sent you a message, feel flattered – you must look rather
interesting. I’m a fan of conversation, so I could just be seeking
amicable, intriguing conversation.
If any of the above sounds cocky… well, my bad. I’m actually a
rather quiet person in real life… ish. Unless I know you
Hope you've enjoyed my not so brief but blunt profile :P
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I studied languages at university. At the moment, I'm enjoying the
world of work :D
I aspire to visit the US in the near future... when I have
sufficient funds... and several other countries, but the US is the
big one. I have a fascination with said country, (yes, so average -
everyone outside the US is either fascinated by it, or thinks it's
boring... I fall into the former)
Also - another aspiration is to learn another language. I have
three now, including English, to a pretty good level - so now I
wouldn't mind acquiring a fourth.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Languages... I'm pretty good at learning them... is that really a
skill? Hells yeahs :P I'm also a good listener... and I am okay at
making people laugh, though half the time it's not deliberate.
I have "mad skills" at knowing random facts. Fact. I'm also clearly
well versed in "gangsta" lingo. Don't worry... I'll keep it on the
down low (joking... I find it hilarious saying things like "in a
bizzle" and "fo' sure"... it conflicts completely with my
appearance... and tends to amuse people).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You're probably thinking this... yes, I'm psychic (joking - I tend
to sign post my jokes with new people, in this case you... prevents
I look younger than 22.
Was I right? You were definitely thinking that. Unfortunately I
frequently get "YOU'RE TWENTY TWO??!?!?!"... Last year, I went to
visit a friend teaching in Madrid. She took me with her to one of
her classes... one of the 12 year old school kids directly said
"No, she must be 13, like us", when confronted with the age 21 (at
the time). He would not back down. In that school, I'm now 8 years
younger than I am.
Before this puts you off, I can assure you that the age "13" as an
assumption was oddly low, even for me. I'm usually accused of being
between 15 and 18.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favourite book? The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons... though
I'm partial to fantasy books as a whole.
Favourite movie? Gladiator. Though the newer Batman's fall in close
second. Then any superhero movies.
Favourite tv shows? So numerous...but Stargate (SG-1 &
Atlantis), BSG, and Firefly are among my favourites. I'll admit to
enjoying Grey's Anatomy too... so sue me, I'm a woman after
As for food... I eat relatively healthy... I try to have my five
(fruit & veg) a day... BUT I LOVE chocolate... not American
chocolate though, American chocolate sucks (no offence).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Phone (has my music on it)
My laptop (it's how I communicate with family)
My family (though I could do without them occassionally :P)
Not sure what else...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Bed... I like being lazy.
Penguins... why not?
What I'll have for dinner/lunch.
Why the word "Thesaurus" (which is a reference book for those of
you who don't know) has "saur" in it... like the word "Dinosaur"...
how does a book relate to a dinosaur?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
...trying to claim a lazy night in and ultimately failing... or
actually claiming a lazy night in and trying to find things to do
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm an underachiever and procrastinator. I'm okay with admitting
it, but I'm not proud of it... though to be fair to myself, my nan
does keep telling me that I come from a long line of
procrastinators. It seems to run down the female line... Aka... not
my fault according to her :P (Yes, my nan is a legend... how many
others can put their procrastination down to genes?)
