One of the things I’ve missed most is traveling. Planning for travel has always been lots of fun for me. I’ll let others go on the preplanned tours. Just don’t see myself following a tour guide with their little flags held high. Give me a 5 speed gear shift in the south of England, and let’s go explore. You can be the navigator while I drive, or, if you’d prefer, we can switch roles. Just help me get off the roundabouts.
Exercise is important to me. Almost every day, I’ll spend an hour or so doing some physical activity. Most frequently I’ll go for a run, but not as far as I used to go, due to an ankle injury. Biking is getting more important since I like to vary my routine. I really regret not pulling out the kayak for quite some time. I do have two, so maybe together we could drift down some river.
Having worked with teenage students my entire adult life, I’ve been able to stay young at heart, and willing to change the way I look at life. Being the center of attention is not very important to me. You don’t learn much while you’re talking. Spending time in a room with another person doesn’t require a lot of conversation. Just sharing your life with someone you care about is so fulfilling. If you’d like, you can cuddle up with a book, or with me, and share a nice bottle of wine.
