Books: a few favorites include David McCullough, Nick Hornby, Steven Levitt, Aleksandr Solzhenitsen, and Frank McCourt. But I read voraciously and there are many, many more.
Movies: old favorites include the Bourne movies, Superbad, Airplane, Jerry Maguire, Shawshank Redemption.
TV: Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Girls, The Wire, Breaking Bad. Also, cool documentary shows like "Cosmos" and "VICE."
Food: Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. And sushi. I LOVE sushi.
Camera/tripod/other equipment - photography is my creative outlet. I usually do mostly landscapes and cityscapes/architecture, but I've been trying to do more up-close or portrait photography recently. A lot of my best stuff ends up at: https://500px.com/johnb1115
Passport - I try to go abroad at least once a year. My last big trip was to Hong Kong, and next up is either Italy or Korea.
Climbing wall - the best way to blow off steam after work.
Books - I almost always have at least one book going. My bookshelf is the one thing I'm certain will stay with me, wherever my life takes me.
Playoff hockey - the best 8 weeks of the year. Go Hawks!

- What shape of pasta goes best with this chicken parm I just cooked up?
- How can I adopt a golden retriever without my landlord finding out?
