I'm a very laid back guy, first and foremost. Yes, I enjoy going to a good pub, a concert, or out to a nice restaurant, but to me nothing beats a night at home with dinner and a good book most of the time. Very few people appreciate the simple pleasure of just being near someone and reading books together on the lawn with iced tea, and I aim to change that.

I know more raw information on more diverse subjects than is probably good for me (however I do rock at quiz night), and I am thoroughly, unrepentently nerdy. I enjoy the outdoors, my favorite season is autumn, and I become quite rilled up by historical inaccuracies and poor plot design. I am not timid, I am not easily embarrassed, and I am not bothered by this. I have been described as a cross between Sheldon from Big Bang Theory (good show) and Ted from How I Met Your Mother (never seen it).

I am happy, caring, and probably smiling.

I have a nice job that I enjoy, some fun hobbies (model painting, cooking, board and tabletop games to name a few), and I'm starting to think up plans for furthering my degree. I'm out and about pretty often (and in and relaxing more), but for the most part just taking time to be content.

I have this troublesome tendency to speak whatever is on my mind, often to an amusing degree. I'm also excruciatingly patient and an irascible optimist, but those take a little longer for most people to figure out.

Movies/TV; the 13th Warrior, V for Vendetta, Love,Actually, Watchmen, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Bruce Almighty, Dogma, Doctor Who, Stargate Series, Star Trek, Red Dwarf, Coupling, Black Books, Eureka, Big Bang Theory, etc.

Food; not terribly that picky. I like to cook and learn new dishes, so I'll give most suggestions a shot, vegetarian or otherwise. I've been cooking more vegetarian and gluten free lately, but not for any specific reason.

science fiction, medieval European history, the nature of God, Doctor Who, current events in the field of Archaeology, cats, whatever the BBC tells me to, how old friends are doing, the number 42, and hey look there's a leaf...

reading a good book, out with friends playing board games, hanging out at the game store (Tower Games in Minneapolis; lots of great board games, and there's always someone looking for a game). I tend to spend a lot of time in, but that's mainly because I don't have friends who bar hop often.

I can dance the waltz, foxtrot, cha, rhomba, tango and some swing.
