People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I
like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an I.Q. of 48 and am
what some people call mentally retarded. [Bonus points if you know
where this is from.]
In all seriousness, allow myself to introduce…myself. I’m a pretty laid back guy who prides himself in being a very open-minded and balanced individual. I’m light-hearted and have a ridiculous sense of humor, yet I am very introspective, mature, fiercely loyal, and career driven. I can be very spontaneous (I recently went on a two week vacation to South Korea and Hong Kong on two week’s notice) but am also very disciplined and responsible (I’ve been maxing out my 401K since I graduated college in 2005). I believe in pursuing your passions (in my first two years of college, I was in a band and was convinced I was going to become a rock star) while still embracing practicality and being down to earth (when I realized I sucked at music, I had to settle for an engineering degree – dull, I know). 50% of my humor comes from Family Guy, 50% comes from Anchor Man, and 50% comes from Arrested Development (apparently I’m not good at math, how the hell did I become an engineer?).
I recently ran my first half marathon and am currently addicted to learning how to play tennis. I enjoy cooking (and eating), traveling, and would like to pick up photography someday. I like to stay busy, try new things, and put a lot of effort into staying connected with my friends and family. As such, I’m constantly running around doing different things with different people. However, I also understand the importance of solitude and try to regularly schedule some time for myself to simply veg on the couch watching TV or reading a good book.
