My self-summary
I grew up in a small town in west central Minnesota, came to Minneapolis for college, and have been living in the Twin Cities ever since. I loved where I grew up and I get back whenever I get the chance, especially in summer. I have a strong connection to my hometown and am proud of the values that smalltown life gave me. I would move back in a heartbeat if I could, but the job market is pretty bleak out there. I currently live in Plymouth, which I thought was going to be a temporary thing when I moved here two years ago, but it turns out I'm liking it more than I thought I would. I especially enjoy all the walking/running trails right outside my door.

I'm a huge Twins and Gopher basketball fan, and a die hard Timberwolves fan. I work just a few blocks from Target Field and Target Center, and one of my favorite Friday activities is getting a couple drinks after work and walking over to the stadium to take in a game.

My hobbies include golfing, running, cooking, and gardening. My current apartment provides about the worst conditions for plants though, and everything I try to grow dies almost immediately. So that particular hobby is kind of on hold for awhile. On the bright side, I'm right next to lots of trails that I like to use 4-5 times a week and get in a good run. I can't say I'm passionate about running, but I do it for a few reasons: it's good for the heart, it's a great excuse to get outdoors for an hour or so, and I enjoy trying to improve my time with each 5K that I run. I also enjoy cooking, and especially grilling. I love relaxing outside on the really hot summer days with a cooler of cold drinks and some steaks on the grill.

I've done the Europe backpacking experience twice, but have done little traveling since (outside of work). There are a lot of places within and outside of the US that I'd love to see. I can just never make up my mind when or where to go. If I weren't working, I think one of the best vacations would be to take a long roadtrip and visit as many baseball stadiums as possible, especially if the Twins were playing.
What I’m doing with my life
Working at a small marketing company in the corporate retail world. I honestly wouldn't know that the job even existed if I didn't have it, so it's always awkward explaining to people who don't work in corporate retail exactly what it is that I do.

I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up, and I'm ok with that.
I’m really good at
Word games and naming that tune.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have terrible fashion sense. I blame it on my upbringing in a very small town. For example, while home for the holidays I ran into an old acquaintance at the grocery store who said they didn't recognize me because I looked "so fancy". I was wearing jeans and sneakers, but my black jacket stood out from all the snowmobile and athletic jackets, which apparently is enough to be "fancy" in my town.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: I've recently become a fan of country music, but I enjoy most anything. Country and classic rock are the genres that top my list.

Shows: TV shows I actually watch on a regular basis include It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, Archer, How I Met Your Mother, and New Girl. If one of those aren't on, I'm usually tuned into a Minnesota sports game, HGTV, or the History Channel.

Food: Anything. I'm the least picky eater you'll ever meet. I don't know if I can pick a favorite, but I do love pizza, sushi, a traditional Thanksgiving meal, and any kind of meat and veggies on the grill.
The six things I could never do without
A good night's sleep
Netflix
Coors Light
Running shoes & a treadmill
Summer nights
Singing along with the radio in the car
On a typical Friday night I am
Either walking to HH and a Twins/Timberwolves game after work, or going for a run when I get home, ordering a pizza, and watching a Netflix movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't like the state fair.

I have the back of a 70-year-old man. I guess it's not that private since there are days I walk around looking like a question mark, but it's still embarrassing to have thrown your back out multiple times by age 28.
