My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Southern transplant, lawyer, introvert (though the fun kind), urban planning/real estate geek. Natural habitat: coffee shop with newspaper. I've been told I am "chill," but that word is kind of ridiculous.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Unpacking! I just moved, so I am spending lots of time stumbling over boxes and soliciting interior design advice. Also going to Ikea.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Deciding where to eat/drink/see music and navigating Philly to get there; defending much-maligned Philly institutions (SEPTA, my former employer L&I, and even PPA - everyone deserves an advocate); scrabble; taking things down a notch.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music: Neutral Milk Hotel! I have seen them twice this year, the most recent show being an especially powerful experience. In general, my tastes run mostly indie though I love seeing jazz/brass band shows as well and am up for most anything. I am always peppering friends with info about shows. Take the pressure off them - come see some music with me!

TV-wise, I probably like what you like, as in the AMC/HBO usual suspects. The Honorable Woman is blowing my mind at the moment. Also, savoring the Colbert Report while it's still around.

I'm hugely into Asian food, dating from a stint at a Japanese restaurant in a previous life. Would like to cook more and also get more into the Philly restaurant scene...while avoiding pretentious/expensive aspects. Possible?

Reading: I read a ton of news - and try especially to stay up on local goings-on. Also, Ta-Nehisi Coates is the man

Podcasts - just discovered 99% Invisible! Amazing.

TL;DR. Hopefully you don't hate everything I just listed.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
coffee (preferably iced), cheap ethnic food,
cats (preferably cared for by others, but I'll probably crack eventually and get one), friends, alone time, and the occasional visit to New Orleans, my home for 7 years. I'm committed to Philly now, and we’ve both moved on, but man that city is great.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to make cities better.
How to balance earnestness and humor.
How much should I tip this person for my takeout food/coffee/whatever.
How strange it is to be anything at all.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I may or may not hold certain outlier views on museums and camping.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You have thoughts on how to divide my kitchen space from my living room space.

You have recommendations for music/tv/books based on the above.

You want to buy a used a/c unit! (This is probably a terms of service violation. But seriously. This a/c is a winner.)
