My name is John and I just recently moved to Aventura to start work on my PhD in Ecology. I have moved around a lot recently. I did my undergraduate in South Carolina and I spent some time in South Africa doing research. I love going to the beach and going out for a drink.

I joined this site because I have spent so many years working on my career that I kind of put dating on the back burner. I feel that it's time for a change. The time I spend not working on my PhD I'd rather spend with a beautiful girl.

I am currently working on my PhD. After finishing it, I plan to do a postdoc before becoming an Assistant Professor at a University. I have already published projects and I plan to publish more in the future.

I do not know what to put here. I am good at a lot of things.

I am focused, determined, and responsible. I am also a natural born leader. Most people would say that I talk to much though.

I LOVE classic rock. Especially Pink Floyd, Queen, The Who, and Aerosmith. Anything recorded in the 60's, 70's, and 80's I pretty much love.

I am a huge Edgar Allan Poe fan. His poems and short stories are fantastic. I generally read scientific journals though, so I doubt anyone would be familiar with authors.

My favorite movies are The Boondock Saints, the Dark Knight, all of the James Bond movies, cheesy horror movies, and also all the classic Disney films.

As far as TV goes, I love watching Bones, How I Met Your Mother, and The Walking Dead.

I know most people put their phone and computer on here, but I could honestly go without both. I'd much prefer to talk to someone in person. If I had to pick 6 things though, they would most likely be 1) good conversation 2) the beach 3) a grill of some type to BBQ 4) music 5) my friends 6) pizza

When I am not working, I usually try to go out for a drink with friends. I don't drink too much anymore. My crazy partying days are over. I do enjoy a pizza, a beer, and a movie on a Friday night after a long day of work.
