My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am awesome. Trust me. Read no further.

But seriously, I'm pretty easy to get along with and I get along well with pretty much anybody. I'm more concerned with being real than being hip (hip though I am). People tend to like me. Try me!

Here is more about me for those that want to know, otherwise keep scrollin'. I was a navy kid. Lived in a few places and seen a few things growing up. Got my psych degree from USF and been kinda blowing in the wind for the past couple of years. I have become very disillusioned with the grimeyness of the private sector and just people in general so I decided to carry on the family tradition by joining the navy. Sometimes I regret it but sometimes I think it's awesome.

I consider myself a deep person, an old soul. Cynical yet cautiously (maybe naively) optimistic. Deep as I may be I am always trying to crack a joke. Like, always. If laughter really is medicine then I must be a pharmacist! (ba dum tsh!) I love to laugh and more so to make others laugh and am usually pretty good at it whether it's with or at me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Adjusting to navy life. Learning my trade. It ain't bad. When I ain't working I read. Usually stuff online but I also read books. I also like to run and play tennis and go out for a drink every now and then.

I'm currently at Oceana. I lived in Va Beach growing up in those magical times called the 90's, and it's weird to be back after being away for 15 years. It's almost surreal because everything is familiar but different.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Driving. Definitely driving
The first things people usually notice about me

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
BOOKS: Science, politics, and philosophy. Good fiction is always nice too. Some of my favorite authors are: Dostoyevsky, Chuck Palahniuk, Bill Bryson, Kurt Vonnegut, Jared Diamond, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Thomas Friedman.

MOVIES: Comedy, Documentary, Drama, Action, Sci-Fi. Here are some select titles: Moon, Office Space, Idiocracy, Waiting, Waking Life, Dogma, Mel Brooks, Wayne's Worlds, Rushmore (and other Wes Anderson films), 28 Days/Weeks Later, Interview with the Vampire, Gladiator, old M. Night Shyamalan films, The Matrix, Garden State, etc, etc.

SHOWS: PBS News Hour, The Daily Show (Jon Stewart is one of my heroes, so is Neil DeGrasse Tyson), The Colbert Report (it had a good run), The Simpsons (the 90's episodes), Modern Family, SVU (yup). Futurama. Top Gear (the British version). Arrested Development. Jeopardy. Breaking Bad. I watch sports socially, but I don't park in front of SportsCenter all day.

MUSIC: Everyone here says they like all music, but they don't bother to drop one or two names. I think musical taste says a lot about a person. I like most music. Even country. I'm mostly into indie though. If there is one type of music that I don't like it's dubstep. Dubstep hurts my ears more than the jet engines I spend all day around. A few of my favorite artists are Radiohead, Wilco, Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire. But also: Air, Billy Joel, Bobby Womack, Bon Iver, Bright Eyes, Cake, Daft Punk, Hundred Waters, My Morning Jacket, Nujabes, Phoenix, The Postal Service, The Roots, Rush, Spoon, Tom Petty, A Tribe Called Quest, TV On The Radio, Vampire Weekend, 311, and many many more...

GAMES: Mario Kart 64, Starcraft, Minesweeper. Pictionary, Scrabble, Monopoly, and I'm always down for a good game of spades. Tonk and Casino are also fun.

FOOD: BBQ. And everything else really.
The six things I could never do without

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There is no such thing as a typical Friday night. Now on an ideal Friday night I would just be having a good time doing whatever wherever with whomever.
