My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Looking to have more adventures in my life! And someone to share them with. Be that a few months island hopping in search of the perfect beach, learning some wavesport skills, or venturing in to the equally adventurous waters of starting a family. I feel that I have a lot to offer the right person.

Put more bluntly: Pluck me from this purgatorial online dating carousel and you will have my undying gratitude. ;)

A little about me: I'm a southpaw. Born and raised in NYC. Studied english and physics at university. Carpenter. Musician. Spent some years country living, learning to build, grow food, cook. Never did learn how to darn socks though...Unlearnt some of my disco/city slicker-ness, though I still have a slight weakness for 70's shirts and ties, The Guggenheim, and subway cars...

I love making beautiful things, be they ephemeral, like music or fire, or enduring, like a good friendship, or a big old house.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Buying and/or fixing houses here in Portland...hunting for an exotic beach property to build a palapa on to stay at during the rainy months. Searching for a partner for world travels or domestic nesting.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Accidental puns. Pulling the various parts of a project towards a unified vision. Building things with my hands, abstract thinking, listening, expressing affection.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes. Or my haunches. I suppose.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Currently by the bedside is a Spanish grammar, Nigel Calder's "Cruising Handbook," and "The Blood of Brothers," by Stephen Kinzer.

American TV: Deadwood, The Wire, Breaking Bad. Game of Thrones.

For movies, good sci fi epics, or smart dramas. Interstellar, Edge Of Tomorrow. Match Point. Flawless, to name a few. Bill Murray is a delight.

I sometimes play fiddle music (Appalachian and Cajun) so a lot of my listening is to those genres. I love old Jazz, Bix Biederbecke, Louis Armstrong. On through Miles Davis. Ray Charles is a treasure. Rock'n'Roll, The Rolling Stones, Sonic Youth, Radiohead and Modest Mouse. And Americana, Iron and Wine, Wilco, Shovels and Rope, etc. Gotta get a David Bowie mention in here as well.

Love to cook and to cook for others. I like to find tasty things to do with whatever's coming out of the garden.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Love, Beauty, Smiles, Touch, Light and Air.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Form and function. When it comes to design, I find it helpful to ask, how will it be used? What does the body reach for and where?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Cooking up a storm. Watching a movie. Walking up to Alberta with a friend for a pint.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I seem to burn through socks at an alarming rate...
