Hmmmm.....How do you summarize yourself without sounding either conceited or pathetic?

I am a former GI Jane turned high school teacher who traded in her M16 for a wedding ring and diapers. Twelve years later I traded in the ring for freedom and a chance at true happiness. I have two wonderful children, a girl 7 and a boy 10. So if you find that to be too much "baggage" you should NOT read any further!

I love to laugh, travel and experience new things. I like to be silly and have fun. I am a life long learner. I admit it, I am a nerd. If I do not know the answer to something, I will research it. I crave intellectual stimulation. I am passionate about social issues and politics. If you live in NC and do not know what Amendment 1 is then we most likely we will not be a match. I loath discrimination against any group (homosexuals, minorities, those of a different faith than your own,etc). Mean people suck!

I have a three S rule....You can not be stupid, serious (personality wise) nor stinky if you want to date me.

To be perfectly honest, I'm really not sure what I am looking for. I just have a feeling I will know what it is when I find it (corny right!). I do know what I am NOT looking for! I am not looking for a f*^& buddy nor any involvement with a married man or someone who has a girlfriend!

I spend my life trying to save the world one child at a time....that or trying to protect my own sanity! I am a high school social studies teacher. So if you are looking for an adorable, midget size, rich cougar, I'm sorry to disappoint you.......well just when it comes to the rich part.

I am currently inspiring teenagers to embrace the awesomeness of World History and African American History.I LOVE MY JOB!!!! I get to show children how every aspect of their lives has in one way or another been altered/changed by history and they CAN make a difference in this world. Yes, some days I want to scream and choke them. But, EVERYDAY I laugh, learn and am inspired to be a better person and teacher.

Making people laugh and being a good friend.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to laugh and I am quite accomplished when it comes to the art of making others laugh. If you are a serious person who can not make fun of yourself, you need not apply. Nothing makes a bad day better than laughter. However, I must put out a disclaimer....I have a sarcastic sense of humor.

I have been told that I am a most excellent friend. Blah blah blah right???? But, I really am. I love my friends deeply and would be willing to do most anything for them....even if it means that I may have to sacrifice something that is truly important to me. Friendship is what keeps insanity in check. We all need someone who is willing to be honest with us about ourselves even when the truth may hurt like hell....but, with enough gentleness and love that doesn't leave a permanent scar......Ok, enough of the sappy crap. I'm missing my best friend who recently moved away. Can't you tell? Normally, I'm a hardcore OG. I will blank on you. I swear.

(Head hanging down in shame)....I admit it. I love the Twilight and Hunger Games series. Hey, I have to keep up with what the teenagers like. It's totally a job related requirement....I actually love to read just about anything. HELLO, my degree is in history. Sadly, I don't have much time to read. Two of my most favorite places in the world to be is a library or bookstore.

I love all types of movies and tv shows. I can go from watching Bill Maher to Modern Family to Revenge to CNN to Mob Wives. Now that I think about it, maybe I'm a little schizophrenic.

When it comes to music, at any given moment you may catch me screaming anything from Drake to Kelly Clarkson to Prince to Bob Marley to Adele to Eminem to Blake Shelton to Aerosmith in my car or shower.

I love any kind of food except fish. There is a story there!

What I really want the next 30 years of my life to be like.

How incredibly different my life is now and how happy I really am because of it!

It depends on which weekend it is. I could be at home chilling out on the couch eating pizza and watching Netflix, hanging out with friends discussing politics or social issues, out at the club enjoying some adult beverages, watching a play, enjoying a concert or flying away on a quick spontaneous adventure.
