Hi. I'm Jon.

I just graduated from East Carolina University with a BA in English (Writing Intensive/CW focus), and a Communications Media Studies Minor. I enjoy doing many nerd-like things. Most importantly, though, I like: Going places. Doing things. Mixing music for hours. Shooting fun pictures of nothing in particular. Moving and remodeling my bedroom constantly. Making friends. Relentlessly beeping at people while I'm driving. Lifting weights. Exercising. Using a computer for various activities.. and all sorts of fun stuff like that.

I'm an outgoing person! I enjoy making people laugh, even if it's at my expense, and will go to obscene lengths to get a chuckle out of people if the need arises. What can I say? I'm a comedian at heart. :D

I'm a fiction writer, inspired heavily by the military science fiction writings of Orson Scott Card and the smarmy sarcastic words of Palahniuk. I love the feeling of being able to explain myself in words when nothing else can seem to do the job.

I'm an electronic music enthusiast. Drum & Bass/Darkstep is love. I am also a DJ. I spent a lot of money on a set of turntables, and have not regretted it at all since then. I can sit there for hours and turn out mixes, look up, and realize that it's night time already, and not really mind.

I have tattoos. I'm a firm believer in free artistic thought and expression, and as an advocate of such activities, I love tattoos, piercings, and everything that falls into that category. Personally, I currently have work done on my legs and back. I'll be getting more done soon. I've also got 000 gauge plugs in my ears that I've let close up three times, but refuse to get rid of. :O!

Writing, reading everything I can get my hands on, intelligent conversation, photography, art, videogames, driving, music production/DJing, and of course, making people laugh.

My eyes are this weird green/brown hybrid. They're funny looking. So maybe that? I dunno. My voice is well-defined and distinguishable, so that's almost always noticed first, too.

After that, I'd guess my smile. I'm not really sure..? Heh. How can you ask someone this question and expect them not to sound conceited? D:

Bookwise, anything by H.P. Lovecraft (Cthulhu Mythos, wut! Also, Necronomicon, The Horror at Redhook, etc), Palahniuk, Orson Scott Card, or Asimovv. I love Science Fiction and Fantasy, but I'll read just about anything. On the comic side, Neal Giamond and Alan Moore are geniuses, and I love their work (even if they both are gigantic cockheads).

Music.. my tastes are way too eclectic. I was raised on James Taylor and Jimmy Buffett, but my heart lies in Darkstep/Drum & Bass, Metal, Post-rock and lounge-prog (Frou Frou/Imogen Heap/The Postal Service).

As for the electronic side: Dieselboy, first and foremost (credit to the King, where credit is due! Long live the new flesh.); AK1200, Dara, Andy C, Calyx, Shpongle, Infected Mushroom, Evol Intent, Future Prophecies, Muffler, Andain, Spor, etc.

Movies.. well, that's up in the air. My likes and dislikes are pretty hit or miss with a lot of stuff. I love existentialist films, like I <3 Huckabees and Eternal Sunshine, but I also like a lot of really obscure stuff, too (Battle Royale, Versus, old japanese monster movies, horror/slasher movies, SubUrbia, Quadrophenia, SLC Punk. How's that for random?). I also just recently saw The Wrestler, Zombieland, and Paranormal Activity -- all of which were very, very good!

Food: EVERYTHING. I love food. :D

Wherever the night takes me. Usually out with my friends. While I don't mind being alone sometimes/spending a quiet night at home, I prefer to utilize the weekends to my advantage. I like to be social.

I have an unnatural obsession with ketchup. I love it on almost everything.
