I am precise, sharp, and Canadian.

My Self-Summary

i like music. especially live music. i frequent pop/indie/electronica shows, but i'm open to most anything. festivals are especially amazing. discovering new music makes my day.

i like reading. i read before bed every night. previously had limited myself to mostly fantasy / sci-fi, but have recently been working my way through books often found on "top 100" lists.

i like video games. and board games. and card games.

i have a job. i don't love it, but i don't know what else i'd rather be doing anyway.

myers-briggs thinks i'm an istj. a reasonable assessment.

i own two cats. i'd like to own a dog, but probably not until i buy a house with a yard; leaving a dog alone in my apartment for ten hours or more a day seems cruel.

What I’m doing with my life

living it.

I’m really good at

solving problems.

The first things people usually notice about me

like a ninja I prefer to pass through unseen.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

selecting a short list of favourites would be difficult; much easier to list a handful of recent interests.

books:
crime and punishment (fyodor dostoevsky), breakfast of champions (kurt vonnegut), slaughterhouse five (kurt vonnegut), the world in six songs (daniel j. levitin), crooked little vein (warren ellis), anthem (ayn rand), payback (margaret atwood), nudge (thaler and sunstein), and so on.

movies:
star trek, yes man, inglorius basterds, state of play, watchmen, crank: high voltage, no country for old men, burn after reading, the dark knight, and so on.

music:
chrw, nme radio, thievery corporation, massive attack, the flaming lips, the stone roses, the big pink, the xx, kid koala, kraftwerk, pet shop boys, girl talk, joy division, new order, white lies, shout out out out out, the raveonettes, passion pit, mgmt, timid tiger, m83, mstrkrft, animal collective, foo fighters, leonard cohen, air, gogol bordello, olenka & the autumn lovers, and so on.

The six things I could never do without

http://www.vimeo.com/6893996

I spend a lot of time thinking about

the future.
music.
living room furniture.
money.
the past.
renovating an old house.
