My self-summary
Student of philosophy, cyclist, reader, listener, walker, talker, film fan, visual artist, maker of noise.
What I’m doing with my life
Exploring the labyrinths of the mind, wandering, digging, burning, building, minding, winding, sounding, losing, finding.

I spent my summer teaching kids how to bike around Pittsburgh. I'm a receptionist and a student. I make visual art.
I’m really good at
Reading in coffee shops for hours, cycling around Pittsburgh, going to gallery crawls, wandering in the park, walking in the woods, having long conversations over beer and whiskey, playing pool poorly, exploring neighborhoods, going to the movies, staying up late.
The first things people usually notice about me
Stature & sometimes spectacles.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Some favorite writers: Philip Roth, Haruki Murakami, William Faulkner, Virginia Woolf, Jorge Luis Borges, JD Salinger, Michael Chabon.

Some favorite directors: Andrei Tarkovsky, Wim Wenders, Alain Resnais, Jim Jarmusch, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Michelangelo Antonioni, David Lynch, Terence Malick. I also dig lots of mumblecore stuff.

Music: I like lots of 80's & 90's shoegaze/dreampop (Ride, Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine), The Smiths/Morrissey, Spacemen 3, Sonic Youth, Pavement, Nick Cave, the Chameleons, Spiritualized, Radiohead, Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, Mission of Burma, &c., &c. Also some minimalist classical composers (Philip Glass, Gorecki), the odd jazz album or two, ambient/drone stuff.

As for food and drink, I have pretty simple tastes: Indian, Thai, whiskey, stout!
The six things I could never do without
An old bicycle or two, four seasons, coffee every day, notebooks, a 35mm camera, pals old and new.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to live simply and well. How to be open. That sounds obvious, maybe, but it's easy to forget sometimes. I want to be present in my moment-to-moment experience. I want to be a good listener, a good talker, and a good friend. I want to balance theoretical knowledge with living in the world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out and about! Or trying to get there.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It's more fun to get to know someone bit by bit. Some mystery must be preserved for the moment.

But if you must have an intriguing tidbit or two: I've been employed variously as a flower delivery-truck driver, an egg-processing plant worker, a door-to-door census taker, a glassware painter, and a photo-lab technician among other things.
