My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
NYC --> Westchester --> NYC. I enjoy traveling (really, who doesn't?), playing guitar, reading, avoiding crowds, and brewing beer with my neighbor (hippity hoppity). I spent a year living in Thailand and backpacking around SE Asia, spent a year working on the Obama campaign ('08), and now am doing the full-time work/part-time grad school thing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
By day I help to "green" affordable housing in the city. By night I toil in the library, or, to put it more accurately, bar-hop around Morningside Heights. I often wonder why I ever left Thailand, and think maybe I should just sell all my crap and move back. Then I remember they have no bagels :(
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Not panicking
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My biceps? My cut abs? No, probably my sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Simpsons, Seinfeld, Peep Show (British comedy, you should check out). I can't get in to current dramas though (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, House of name it, I don't watch it). I just don't have the attention span and can't make the commitment. Plus, real life is dramatic and entertaining enough. I mean really, you can't make this stuff up!

David Mitchell, Douglas Adams, Bill Bryson, David Sedaris, Vonnegut, Fitzgerald, Hemingway, and Kerouac are among my favorite reads. I mostly read news and magazines though. Usually my week turns into a race to finish the last New Yorker before the next one arrives.

For music: Anything from Radiohead to Dexter Gordon to Shostakovich. I cannot get into country though. I've tried, but no.

I like all food, but I hate mayo. Actually, I fear it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee, my Fender, NPR, a short walk to a good bagel, sunshine+hammocks (counting that as one), The Macallan.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where to stand on each subway platform for minimal steps to the stairs.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Running like an antelope, out of control.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have like, ten half-started, 2-page or less, attempts at travel memoirs saved on my computer. Also, I think there are a few sitcom starts on there as well. Insomnia can lead to some strange things.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like strong coffee, good beer, pretending to be a snob, the Op-Ed section, and would prefer Couchsurfing over a five star hotel.

You can help me with my Cost Benefit Analysis homework...or my fantasy football team.

You play bass guitar (not required but thought I'd shoot for perfection).

You're from NY...or share our similar neuroses.
