My self-summary
My name is Joseph and I am a composer. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and lived in Peoria, Illinois for five years before moving to Aurora, Colorado. I'm living in Greeley now while I go to school.

I have a my own car. I live with a roommate. I want to meet men for dates and hanging out. I'm interested in single men, age 21-50, who speak English, and have a slim, toned, average, or stocky build. I do not have any race of height preferences. I'm seeking genuine connection, so I'm not interested in having sex right away.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I am in graduate school at UNC pursuing my master's degree in music theory and composition and work as a graduate assistant for the composition section. I sing (Bass 2) in the UNC Mixed Chorus. I also play double bass in the Aurora Symphony Orchestra and the Powder River Symphony in Gillette, WY.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at composing music. I'm a pretty good writer, and speaker, and driver. If your curious and I forgot something, just ask.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Les Misérables by Victor Hugo is my favorite novel by far. It's probably the best novel ever written. I mostly read nonfiction though. I like to read about topics such as music, history, politics, religion, and geography. Some of my favorite nonfiction books are Guns Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond, A Peoples' History of the United States by Howard Zinn, Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks, and The Rest Is Noise by Alex Ross.

My favorite movie of all time is "Todo sobre mi madre" (All About My Mother) directed by Pedro Almodóvar. I like all of his movies a lot. I like comedies, documentaries, dramas, gay and lesbian films, independent films, musicals, science fiction, and thrillers. I really like all the Star Wars movies; I think The Force Awakens is the best one yet. I like a lot of movies, so if there is a particular title you want to know whether I like or not, just ask.

Currently my favorite TV shows are Game of Thrones, True Blood, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Pokemon, Futurama, House of Cards, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Orange is the New Black, and Cosmos.

I recently started listening to podcasts, and I'm always looking for recommendations on new podcasts I should listen to. Come of my current favorites are: Democracy Now!, TED Radio Hour, Meet the Composer, Bibliophilia (I composed the theme music for Bibliophilia), The Chalene Show, Game of Drones by Sleep with Me, and Song Exploder.

Music is my life and I like a whole lot of different kinds of music from different places and times. I could talk about music indefinitely, so I will refrain from discussing my tastes in music here. If you are really brave, ask me.

I am omnivorous and not picky when it comes to food. I like most food for the most part, my one big exception is Mexican food. I do not like most Mexican food. So, unless we're in San Antonio, we will not be going out to any Mexican restaurants. Ironically, I like the food at Chipotle and Qdoba, but I don't consider them to be Mexican restaurants.
The six things I could never do without
Aside from basic needs for survival, I don't think I could live without:
1. Friends
2. Music
3. Books
4. The internet (I know I did in the past, but today, no)
5. A piano/keyboard
6. Pencils and blank staff paper
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Complexity and simplicity, chaos and order, relativity and absolutes, and whether or not to do a load of laundry on any given day.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually hanging out with friends and having a couple beers at a local brewery. Sometimes I stay in and work on stuff for school.
